The Helping Hand’s program provides for every child (handicap or disabilities) with great skilled staff workers ready to meet their needs. Comparison to teens, these children may have once came from a teen mother or single parent home, with the teen parent going into a depression stage in life causing a bad alcohol/drug addiction to take over her life or misusing the alcohol/drug substances while pregnant with the child, causing them to develop improperly. This program is appropriate for any child that needs a place to stay. In regard to the foster parents, they must be 21 years old, have a stable home with a drug free environment and income, be willing to complete a background check and complete the training to be licensed by the state. For children, ages 0-4, who are unable to attend school will be held in the day care setting every day of the week, unless a parent-child interaction is needed for an appointment or important issue. The child care portion of the building will consist of a class room setting with teacher items displayed throughout the area, giving the young age children the same schedule routine as normal school age children. For the school age children, they will be picked up from the appropriate schools in the area at the end of the school day.
