Due to the personal nature of the romantic poetry, there has always been a fascination with the lives of Romantic poets. Taking place from 1780-1830 the Romantic period began as a reaction to the Enlightenment ideas. It started a new emphasis on feelings of sadness and happiness. Along with believe in imagination and the idealism of nature. The Romantic poets saw nature as a source of spiritual renewal and means of escaping there troubled lives. In Wordsworth Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey. The Wordsworth returns to Abbey and finds it’s just as beautiful as when he left. “Five years have past; five summers, with the length of five long winters!” He goes on recalling the scenery the murmuring waters of the river, the steep and lofty cliffs and the thoughts he had of deep seclusion. Even while enjoying the presence of nature around him he thinks of future times when you can recall memories of that moment and feel joy.
