I'm still thinking about the cons and pros about rescuing the siblings, I have a feeling that it might distort the story development. It's a bit risque, which is why I'm still thinking about it, but I hope you won't be disappointed if it didn't come up. The only thing that went through my mind was the fact that I would be seeing my sister soon. Until then, I would train to become stronger and become a big sister to look up to. After I had completed the first part of the Dungeon, I had walked through a large cave, illuminated by glowing crystals-a beautiful and idyllic sight to marvel at. Once the path had ended, I appeared in a room with a stand in the middle. Upon inspecting it closer, I found an old, crumpled piece of paper on it. Opening it, I frowned when I noticed that it was the Torran language written on it, well, more precisely, one sentence; "Open sky and do your worst." The moment those words left my lips, the ground underneath me opened and swallowed me into a world of darkness...

Although each leader comes from different environments and possesses different characters, all of them keep their precious values in mind and persist in chasing their ideal lives. Even if each value can be interpreted by different meanings, they all lead encourage individuals to become better.

Although Michael does show some frustration issues, he has shown great improvements and responds very well to praise, one on one attention, and immediate consequences. When Considering what makes a socially intelligent leader I am reminded of the Trouble Geniuses’ chapter from the “Outlier” written by Malcolm Gladwell, in this chapter meet 2 young men, Chris Lagan who had an IQ of 195, who aced the SAT’s even though he fell asleep in the middle, and was accepted in to Reed College and Robert Oppenhimer who was also brilliant in his own respect and accepted into Harvard. While in college both had struggles, Chris Lagan lost his scholarship after one semester at Reed because his mother forget to fill out financial aid paper work and upon trying again, life showed up for this small town farm boy with little mean and he had to drop out permanently and returned to his small town life; Robert Oppenhimer during his stay at Harvard stole chemicals for the lab and tried to poison his professor, the young man from an affluence home was later acquitted and put on probation at school and would eventually become known as the “Father of the Atom Bomb.” (Gladwell, 2008) So how does arguably the smartest man in the world end up running a small farm in Montana and an attempted murder become a world renown? This is not a story of the rich kid doing better than the poor. Rather, it’s a story about two different kinds of smarts. Our innate analytical abilities and our social
In this book, the authors Tom Rath and Barry Conchie examine the question “What are the keys to being an effective leader?” To answer this question they had a team that reviewed data collected from Gallup polls. Adversity enhances ones’ positive characteristics due to the provision of an ideal environment for establishing integrity and developing a mature mindset. This conclusion is valid because people tend to learn from their mistakes, thus gain a broader perspective on life.
Who we really are, what our real character is only truly elicited when we are challenged, as a proverb states, “In the darkest hour shines the brightest light.” Our true character shines through when we are pushed to our extremes and are placed in situations outside of the norm. Horace claims that when someone is faced with an adversity or a challenge, they are more likely to discover talents that they thought they never had. I agree with his claim that adversity breeds talents and strengthens our character, but still understand the importance of prosperity in developing talents.
The purpose of a strength based approach is to promote positive change. The video clearly stated that “the people who stand to lose from change has all the power and those who benefit from change are poor”. The idea is to use this approach to refocus people living in poverty mindset to think more of using their talents, skills, strengthens, and to use them toward a way of building their community out of poverty. People living in poverty have to be aware that building their community by starting small businesses and offering opportunities for employments is a way out of the system. Those that live on welfare aid are trapped in a cycle that would keep them impoverish due to not having accessibility to resources, services, and funding. The system is design to keep people working under a certain income eligibility to prevent them from getting ahead.

The WillPower Instinct:How Self-Control Works, Why It Matters, and What you Can Do to Get More of It by Kelly McGonigal, genuinely opens eyes on what will power is and self control is. During the process of reading there were many conflicting ideas going on in my head. A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.
Strengths and Weaknesses Throughout the Mid-SEE I have written reflections on my writing and participated in group activities. I have received comments from my peers and suggestions to help with revising my paper. With the help of my professor, Professor Church and my classmates, I was able to comprehend their suggestions to me to make my essay better and by revising my classmate’s essays, I was able to point out mistakes that I might have made in my essay, which made me go back to my essay and check and see if I had mistakes that just flew by my eyes. I have come to understand what my strengths and weaknesses are in my writings. What I tend to do wrong in my papers is trying to get the topic to stay on the topic throughout the paper.
Mastering yourself is true power.” This quote sets forth the idea that mastering oneself can be obtained by two different ways, that is, by using either natural or learned skills. However, copying qualities that others learn to perfect, is not preferred. When one realizes his natural qualities within himself and molds them into perfection, then he becomes much more powerful. Utilizing natural talents result in better leadership because one is innovating and has a clear vison of what he is best successful in doing. Embracing one’s inter qualities promotes mental and emotional well-being by creating a positive perception on life in daily activities. Mastering ourselves by using one’s natural abilities creates personalized opportunities that are bounding to their life. In conclusion, mastery that develops through natural born skills is preferred because it results in better leadership, greater mental and emotional health, and a refined sense of vocation in
