All humans, save Christ, have sinned. Sin is inevitable for all humanity, for we are a fallen people. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Sin created a great divide between Mankind and God. Because of this, Jesus was sent to bridge that great divide by atoning for our sins. However, Jesus did not remove the issue of sin, for we still sin today, but he took the blame for it. Upon hearing that, people tend to think that it is acceptable to sin because Jesus already paid the price for our sins. The consequence of this is people getting stuck in a deep rut of sin. The faster we get out this rut of sin and the less we sin results in a better, more fulfilling life. How do we get out of this rut? How do we undo the patterns of our sin? We can try to undo the patterns of our sin by avoiding that which makes us sin but this method rarely, if ever, works. When we try to avoid something, the very thought of it consumes our minds and we fall back into that sin. The simplest answer the questions above are to come to Jesus, confess your sins to him, and work with Him to fight against sin. The best way to fully understand this is to look into the lives of other great human beings who struggled to undo the patterns of their sin.
Throughout the journey of Dante’s Purgatorio, one encounters many individuals who are looking to undo the patterns of their sin. Everyone on Mount Purgatory is on their way to getting into heaven but they need to train so that the desire of sin is no longer present in them. The most intriguing terraces of Purgatory to me are those that deal with the sins of pride and sloth. Sin is something that we all will struggle with for the duration of our lives. Some people live in bondage to their sin because they don’t know how to undo the patterns of their sins, but, because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we do. Living and growing through Jesus is the only way to undo the patterns of our sin and not revert to sin again. Jesus fulfilled His destiny through His death and resurrection. Now we must fulfill our destinies and train ourselves so our sin does taint them.

Sin is an intangible object that was not a plan of God’s. Many conclusions, opinions, and explanations can be formed, about sin, from several pieces of works. “The American Bible,” “Creation,” and Loewe’s article provide information that can be read, analyzed, and develop conclusions as to what things mean. In my opinion, God has high expectations for mankind. I feel that God was disappointed with mankind, when Adam and Eve disobeyed Him. Therefore, He felt that it was necessary to punish mankind. I think God, will restore the conditions on Earth, back to normal over an extended period of time.
We are all sinners. Although one may try hard not to sin, all humans eventually succumb at some time or another to sin. While people may not able to avoid the fate which awaits them, the power of free will allows people to decide how they will respond to sin. While some may respond with guilt and regret, others may react with a sense of redemption and a renewed sense of responsibility.
One might ask, What exactly are sins and where did they come from? According to Oxford Dictionary, a sin is an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law. Sin is what started the fall of humanity that is still manifested in today’s time. Adam was the first of God’s human creation. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27). And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Gen. 2:16–17). Sin entered the world when Adam disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit. “God gave to man the power of contrary choice. Man of his own will, by no external compulsion or determination, used that power in the commission of sin… ” (Reddit 10). The effects of Adam’s sin are profound and and they affect everyone. A few things that stand out in Reddit’s explanation of it is that “sin is lawless, universal and results in satanic bond”. Sin is lawless because its is breaking God’s divine law. “Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness” (1John 3:4). Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ produces an inward change, which in turn is shown to others by outward actions. The question being asked here by James is if there is no evidence of this inward change by the outward actions is then the faith in Christ real and more importantly is then, salvation sure. James in his message is often misunderstood and seen as contradictory in light of the rest of the New Testament but that is truly not the case. James is trying to relate a very real and timely assessment of salvation as it relates to faith and the action of those proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ. In other words are they walking the walk of the faith the claim to be talking?
I have a very pessimistic outlook on human nature. I genuinely believe in the statement made by St. Augustine, in his writing of the “City of God”, that the “man is marked by the original sin” and has “fallen after disobeying God”. All this, of course is in reference to the sin
