Now, people can go any cities in the world and meet with their friends in a few days, or they can contact with their friends immediately through internet, which sounds impossible in the past.Today, our society is not only building on population but also on technology, and that is what we call modern society.
Back to 12thousand years,there are less than 5milion humans in the world. At that time,people live in caves , and they spend the majority of their time on hunting or gathering food. As a result for it, people have little kinds of entertainment comparing with today’s, which includes dancing and singing. Edison made the first public demonstration of his incandescent light bulb on December 31, 1879, in Menlo Park. It was during this time that he said: "We will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles." Now, many citizens can afford using light bulb during the night ,and they can enjoy any kinds of entertainment at night because of the light bulb. Nowadays, there are more than 500billion electric lights in the world decorating the Earth at night. The number of lights at night is a standard to measure whether a country is developed or not. For example,In South Korea, the light covers almost the whole country, while North Korea has a few in the capital city. The internet is another practical use of electricity since users have to use electronic devices to browse the internet. The internet connect the world together,send the message in seconds. In the past, travel and meeting was hard, and people write letters and books to exchange ideas and thoughts.
