Chances make people who they are. It is known that all people make mistakes, do things that are wrong by the outlook of society, and are left up to "second chances". This could be a blessing or a curse. Blessings for the people who use their chance for the better, and to advance from the loss, to make up for lost ground, and regain a grip on life. Some will grow mentally and go on to help others who are headed down the wrong path. It 's saving others from taking the loss, or from putting loss in others ' lives. One can never know what they have until it 's gone due to mistakes. From someone to convert one’s mind from the negative and turn it positive is a blessing and without a second chance there would never be the opportunity to shine. …show more content…
To take a chance, one is accepting the possibilities of what could happen from the choice they have made.
As for second chances being a curse...well, this is primarily due to the person who is given a second chance, the reason being that a lot of people have a very corrupted way of thinking due to the way life goes on around them. Most of these people would use the opportunity of a second chance to try to get away or out of a predicament someone may be in. These people are liberated only to plot and plan ways to get away with future wrongdoing. A lot of this frame of thinking comes from a polluted mind, one that has been overcome by the poisons and stresses in life such as poverty, young parenthood, addiction, and acceptance. These people speak of having no clue of the real meaning of life, which can be a curse. Some individuals are not capable of taking the steps to change because it seems like a challenge too big to achieve. This is caused by a lack of self worth. Others given a second chance will make it worthless by

One can not change how they have done things before, but being given a second chance opens doors to be to whoever one feels they can be. Without another chance in anything, one can not correct the ways of thinking, the outlook of the future, or the way people see them. It is a way to turn the bad into the good, make a change and leave the wrongdoing behind. There are many who only get one chance and hope and wish every day that there could be a second chance, one that they know they may never get.
Some would argue that without second chances the world would be a better place. People who think this way, have good points, but no one can say that they were never given a second chance. People give chances to others and people are quick to look down on people as a way to gain control over others. They try to gain control with the word chance. Chance leads to your choice. In turn, this leads to life. Do wrong and there is always the chance that there will not be another chance. So when you ask me about second chances, these are words that carry a lot of meaning to people and words that they live
Successful reentry into society depends on the former prisoners’ basic needs of housing, employment training, job opportunities, and family counseling being met. Rehabilitation provides these resources, learning opportunities and more to aide inmates in successful reintegration into society. Rehabilitation promotes the humanizing belief that those who have committed a crime can turn themselves around and become better citizens. Everyone deserves the right to a second chance if given the right tools, knowledge and
In the same way, both Wes Moore’s both regret in their childhood and through their adulthood about their mistake in their lives. This point is illustrated in the passage, “Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” (Quoted from Samuel Buckett)...“Failing does not make us a failure. But not trying to do better, to be better, does make us fools” (Moore 185). The explanation of quote point is the quote is to attempt till you succeed or never surrender. On the chance that you come up short once, attempt once more. On the chance that you fall flat second time, do it again. This disappointment again ought to be superior to the past disappointment. There ought to be some realizing and some change. They cannot make it in the first attempt. The (author) Wes Moore acknowledges and tries to enhance by taking a shot at the reasons of his
... may mean that if a person does not learn from their mistakes the first
When you do not live up to your full potential some people will say that is a waste of talent. Even if someone were to go down the wrong road there is still a chance to redeem yourself. Flannery O 'Connor the author of “A good man is hard to find” is a great example of that situation. When a family of six a grandmother, her son Bailey, the mother of his three children John Wesley, June star and a baby boy. After the family decides to have a road trip to Florida, they encounter a man known as the misfit. The misfit has been through so much trouble that the grandmother sees the lost potential in the man. The grandmother shows her indifference for creation by selfishly manipulating and nagging to get her way on the family 's vacation (Keil).
Unfortunately life has many hurdles and roads unturned. I do not feel we should regret the mistakes we have made in our past. Or else, we may be too hesitant to make correct choices in our future.
Being able to redeem one’s self is a wonderful thing. It heals past wounds and mends all pains. People who wish to redeem a wrong are looking at the bigger picture and want to solve the problem instead of making it worse. Take the story of A Long Way Gone as an example. After Ishmael was rehabilitated and was freed from being a child soldier, he was given a second chance in life and tried to live a normal life. He even went to the United States and gave a speech to help stop the use of child soldiers in war, helping to undo the wrongs being done in Sierra Leone. Many times however, his anger towards the rebels in the war would begin to rise inside him, but because he knew what would happened if he couldn’t control himself, he fought against it and could have a calm, calculated mind ready to solve the problem he was facing.
Sometimes people make bad choices and can't do anything to change it when its already done. Also sometimes you make bad decitions thinking its going to be something good for yourself but your future is already planed so your plans can go wrong. An example from Macbeth is that he wanted to kill Banquo and hes son to become king. The future is already has plans for them so when they tried killing them only Banquo died and not his son. Also luck is based on the effort you put in
I won't do it again” if i was a jude? It would all depend on what the crime that was committed and the criminals previous criminal record. I'm a big believer in rehabilitation due to that it helps the criminal to do well in the future by trying to make crime an unattractive option. However, I believe that rehabilitation can be used for minor crimes such as: addicts, sex offenders,( Give different example for minor crime other than sex offender. Is that really a minor crime?) etc… However, for crime that is more serious the criminal needs to get incapacitation. This focuses more on the the offender to get some discipline and pay for the crime they committed. But, after they should be involved in some kind of rehabilitation to focus on keeping the criminal away from committing the crime again.
Everyone makes at least one decision in their lifetime and it’s not always a good choice or decision. Some are small, domestic, and innocuous. Others are more important, affecting people’s lives, livelihoods, and well-being. Many of the simple decisions people make like what color pants they will wear today or whether or not they want spaghetti for dinner, etc. are often automatic or based on their preference at a given moment. Inevitably, we make mistakes along the way. So as you look back at your life and think about some of the poor choices you have made, you might find yourself wondering exactly why you made those decisions that seem so poor now in retrospect. Why did you marry someone who was all wrong for
People are all told from a young age that they can do anything if they set their minds to it. It all depends on one’s life situation and upbringing. Some people are born into a wealthy family with many benefits and end up in jail or addicted to drugs. Other people could easily be born into a rough life living on the streets and grow up to be extremely wealthy and successful. Hardships that are thrown at a person can either make or break them. Regardless of the hardships, everyone is given the same chance to get out of the abusive, destructive, or unsafe situations that they are put into. Whether or not one’s choices and life reflect their past is completely up to that person.
This is exactly what the speaker was expressing, and with experience, it will help people do, feel and be even better. Everything that happens in life, the good and the difficult is necessary to help people become the person they are today. Despite the fact that ways can be changed sooner or later of one’s life, the past encounters can't be changed neither would they be able to be eradicated. The heart pulls people in directions; therefore it's essential those individuals examine this outcome precisely, in light of the fact that regardless of the possibility that the decision clashes with the majority of the practical contemplations, they may be dishonoring their most profound desires.
Our choices have an effect on our lives and can change them to be good or bad. Hindus believe that choices that affect their lives are determined if there will be good or bad outcomes. Nathan and Rukmani choose to leave their home to find their son Murugon, but the choice ended in a badly when they learned that their son left his wife and had been gone for over two years. “We had come a long way to meet bad news and now it seemed there was neither going back nor forward” (Markandaya 160). Moving in with my dad was a choice that made my life better. It was better for me by having someone constantly pushing me to do my best in school and in anything I do. In the Hindu religion it is believed choices that have caused suffering will help purify the soul.
Getting a second chance will help the inmates be reborn. Programs like reentry into society it will make them have a better life and come into the real world so they can’t think about prison and It will rebuild the trust within society. There are programs like prison fellowship that give people in
Failures can be used as lessons so that the failure will not be repeated again. There could be long term failures that are crucial to life to remember and there could be short term failures that help a bit. One of my greatest failures in life that I've experienced and learned from would be from the time of my first grade year. I didn’t take school serious when I was in the first grade and made terrible grades. After this failure, it made change the outlook on school and I started trying. I learned that I need to take school serious or else I will do bad in school. This failure lead to success in school and it has changed the way I think of
In conclusion, life is filled with lessons. Some of them are learned through reading books, traveling, and watching old Disney films. In contrast, some are learned through mistakes, and hard times. As life goes on we will continue to grow up, find new interests, and meet new people. Along the way we will find things that we enjoy doing, and things we can’t stand. All of these things teach us lessons that make us the human beings we are today. I would never take back any of the things that I have done in the past because those are the building blocks that constructed me into the person I am today. I hope I will look back fifty years later and say, “Yea. It was a good life.”
