Future State: Proposed Improvements When overcoming concerns and challenges of the current state of hand hygiene compliance, many new strategies must be implemented to promote and progress hand hygiene behavior. One strategy is to continue to observe nurses using recommended practice using multimodal and multidisciplinary technology. Another strategy to increase compliance exists in making hand hygiene an essential part of nursing culture and creating an institutional priority where administrations provide appropriate support and financial resources (Pfoh, Dy, & Engineer, 2013).
Enhancing Workflow With Use of Emerging Technology Enhancing workflow requires addressing user needs, user experiences, system operability and support. It is possible to create technology that addresses hand hygiene compliance. According to a survey from Lippinocott Solutions (2014), two-thirds of nurses use a mobile device during work.
