In our current generation cell phones are the most important devices we attain in our daily lives. They were once only a means of simple communication, and now have transitioned into mini-computers. The timeline and development of the cell phone from 1983, when the first cell phone was introduced, to modern day compare the level of tech-savvy that various generations today acquire. In life, comparing cell phones to people, there are the Motorolla Razrs’, the iPhones’, and the Blackberry Bolds’.

The Motorola Razr was first introduced in 2005, and immediately at the time became the hot new commodity. Everyone had the desire to obtain one, and if you were seen with one you were considered the “cool kid”. In today’s day and age, it is easily comparable to the iPhone, or rather two years ago, when it cost a $400 to buy one. Now, with a lower price, it is so common to see people with iPhones—the same trend the Razr went through after it came out. Even though the Motorola Razr was popular then, it is not now. It actually is considered outdated. The phone is a simple device that can make calls, text message through a nine-digit pad, and can get ringtones off of a computer. The nine digit number pad is probably the most outdated; almost all phones today have full (QWERTY) keyboards—making it easier to text faster than ever. The Motorola Razrs’ of the world are considered to be people in their early thirties, maybe forties. These people are slow adapters to new technology, and they couldn’t care less about it. They seek simple ways to maneuver around in life, hence the reason why they have a phone that makes simple phone calls. However, these people also don’t care that they have Razrs; they are content with what they have, and enjoy the s...

... their number one priority, and have a reputation of being less involved with family and more involved with work. This reputation obviously comes from aspect that Blackberrys have the ability to take someone away from any given situation at any time. Blackberry Bolds’ range in age, they typically are for established working people in their 30s, 40s, and, 50s—however, it is common to see people in their 20s using Blackberrys.

Indeed, it is easy to draw comparisons//connections from cell phones and their users. The cell phone a person uses defines their level of tech-savvy, interests, and priorities. Although, there are many different types of cell phones, common and well known ones are the Motorolla Razr, The iPhone, and The Blackberry Bold. It’s amazing how a person’s cell phone can delineate their personality by a simple trace of how advanced the cell phone is.
