A survey was one by an IT department “in the survey of over a thousand IT decision-makers, 74% indicated that using tablet computers and smartphones led to an increase in productivity in their organization while 25% of those said it has led to a significant increase” (Needle). The benefit of smartphones in the business world are not only convenient, but also extremely economical and efficient. Lastly, with apps that alert your screen with news, amber alerts and weather advisories sent out, smartphones have played a vital role in the the interconnectedness of news and happenings around the world. With almost instantaneous articles, videos, and pictures of events that occur around the world, people can become educated on a broader spectrum of life. Having a smart phone allows you to look up information on the go using a browser or search engine application. This is just helping to create a faster moving world by allowing people to communicate instantly and find out new information on the
Our modern day society depends on technology for everything, can anyone imagine a life without their phone or computer? Probably not, social media and other popular applications have become so ingrained into our daily lives. Not only can we connect with people anytime throughout the day but we also have so many useful applications that help us on a daily basis. Thinking back to when I was eight years old, I couldn 't wait for sixth grade because my parents had promised to get me a cell phone, I remember counting down the days till the summer of fifth grade was over because I already knew which cell phone I wanted. Once I got it I couldn’t stop showing my mom all of the cool things it could do. Which looking back at it today, it really couldn
Lifestyle plays a role in shaping the gut microbiota, including factors such as excessive sanitation and use of antibiotics, especially at early ages, but also diet. These factors shape the microbial composition profile and the gut microbiota that is responsible for the human immune system and metabolism (Leser & Mølbak, 2009). The gut microbiota is potentially capable of conducting chemical conversions that affect the host’s health, psychology, and physiology. According to the Human Microbiome Project Consortium (2012), the human gut microbiota is as active as a liver. Complex polysaccharides and resistant starches come to the colon intact, and the microbiota of the large intestine is able to ferment those food components (Mulle et al., 2013).
Clearly, smartphones can make a lot of things easier in some way; however, "they are the source of gross distraction and rude behavior". This claim is stated directly from the article. Dan Kadlec uses many figures and sources such as ACI Worldwide and Aite Group, Lookout study to demonstrate a large number of people using mobile phones at the moment. Moreover, these data also present smart-phones owner concern and the rude impact that smartphones influence human. Clearly, 94% smartphone owners worry about losing their phones, but only 6% worry about "security issues related to their smart phone 's access to financial accounts". In addition, the frequency of checking and using the phones is fairly high, and people almost use their phones in every case, such as while in bed, on the toilet, during a meal and even during religious service. I think I can use the information in this article to write about the influence and negative effects of using smartphones in our lives.
Gut microbiota is a community of bacteria that can be found in the intestine and is constantly changing. These bacteria are considered complex because there are about 1 trillion bacteria and about 1000 different types of species of bacteria. There have been studies that helped determine and explain several factors that influence the number of bacteria that reside in the intestine and what effects they have, resulting in alteration of the composition. These factors can influence a person’s metabolism, energy balance, gut permeability, and inflammation.
Microbiome is a growing and currently intensely explored area of research as it relates to numerous human diseases. The gut microbiome is of particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease as its etiology is attributed in part to dysregulation of the relationship between gut microbiota, host genetics, and immune system. The dysbiosis from imbalance of pro- and anti-inflammatory bacteria, and reduction in bacterial diveristy contributing to bowel health have led to emergence of treatment strategies involving pre- and probiotics, fecal transplants, etc. in efforts to restore gut normobiosis. Since epithelial barrier function is compromised in IBD, recent efforts have focused on furthering knowledge about tight junction protein function and
Smart phones have dramatically changed the way we communicate. I know for certain that after seeing my friends during the day that when I get home I can immediately text them or snap chatting or any of the ways we communicate. I can’t imagine living in a world without being able to communicate with my friends across the room or across the globe at the click of a button. Sitting in my room I can check the news, play a game and talk to my friend in America all at the same time. The technology has advanced so much since the first iPhone. Along with other smart phones they have changed the way we communicate because we can just pick up the phone and talk to someone and you can text a question or facetime them. Smart phones have changed the world because at the tips of your fingers anywhere you can check the weather, watch a video, listen to music, take a picture, get directions, check the time, get information from the internet and watch your favorite TV show.
“Sounds like an opportunity for smartness-but only if we choose to take it.” (Weinberger 23) This quote is capable of summarizing all benefits and disadvantages of smart phones. It has already been proven above how drastically smart phones can help society. However, this can only happen if we choose to use it correctly. The truth is that without smart phones, the world would be far worse off than it is now. If we didn’t have an improved method of communication, be it E-mail, calling, etc., then international diplomacy would be even worse than it is now and we would likely be in the middle of world war
We currently live in a digital age world. A world where technology is the forefront of how we function in society. One technological factor that is well utilized in many places primarily the U.S is the smartphone. This is a device that is portable meaning it can fit right in your pockets. Although as diminutive as it may seem, this device is immensely powerful in many aspects regarding human use. We use this for communication, entertainment, jobs/careers and various other methods. It’s keen to say that this device does a lot for our civilization in productivity and efficiency. Although many would say it has definitely shifted how people interact and function without the use of it. Not many are able to hold a conversation or last seconds without
One of the most influential icons in the history of men, Albert Einstein, once stated, “I fear that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” What Einstein meant was, further improvements of technology the world gets could not always mean as an advantage in all aspects. Smart phones, being
Despite the short amount of time since the introduction of the smartphone, the rapid development of the software and technology has had a tremendous effect on the everyday life in society today. The concept of communicating through a telephone was developed in the 1870s. Devices to transmit speech electrically were designed by Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell, but Bell's design was patented first. On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell achieved one of his greatest successes in the making of the telephone. This brought upon a major change in communication and gave leeway to the improvement of the telephone in the days to come (Bellis, 2013b). During the 20th century there were many innovations regarding the telephone. In 1973, the first call from a portable phone was made Martin Cooper, who was a Motorola researcher and executive at the time. Since its inception, the advancement of cell phones has been exponential (Bellis, 2013a). As a result, cell phones have changed how society works in today's world. Many people lack the insight of how cell phones, or in this case, smart phones, affect the people that use them. So the question is, how is the evolution of smart phones impacting our society?
Smartphones make our works easier. It can give services which did not existed before. Some companies and business owners would not be hassled in reaching those people they want to contact. Even though, it can make us fast workers, still it can also waste a lot of money. The United States of America is the number one country which used smartphones for it has the first cellular phone coverage. In the year 1980, the use of smartphones expanded in some cities of U.S.A until it reaches all over the country in 1990. Because of its expensive cost, the providers did not continue to supply compared to the other
The gut microbiome is harboured in the intestines and contains by far the largest, highest density and most diverse community of commensal bacteria in the human body. The resident microbes here outnumber host cells by at least 10 to 1(Azad et al. 2013) with the genome of these microbial populations estimated to have an even greater genetic potential than the human genome itself(Maccaferri et al. 2011a). Under normal physiological conditions, these microbes play a fundamental role in human health and well being. They mediate in the digestion of food and stimulate the development of the immune system by preventing
Handset to the world in our hand (Harper, 2008) stated that In past 20-25 years the growth of mobile users has been increased rapidly. Mobile phones are the best mode of communication throughout the world. These days this is not just mobile phone but it has may other advantages such means of entertainment, media etc. The smart phones these days come with many different applications such music player, GPS, news applications, calendars, games etc....
To understand why probiotics are effective, you have to understand the microbiota and how important it is.”Eighty percent of the immune
Majority of the people use the smartphone day in and out to browse the internet, social media platforms, sending or receiving emails, to manage meetings, listen to music, play games, take pictures, news streaming, messaging and also use it for the original purpose of making or receiving calls.
