Cell Phone Technology The cell phone, in today’s world most people own one. Cell phones are extremely convenient. They (cell phones) allow us to communicate in multiple ways. You can text, email, call, video chat, use social media apps to stay in contact with anyone anywhere. Technology has made its way into every facet of our lives and helps to make life easier and more functional. For the most part, cellular technology has almost become an unconscious thing for us, something most of us take for granted. We have cars with WIFI and Bluetooth capabilities to accommodate our use of the cellular phone, let us not forget the nifty GPS apps that make navigating so much easier with that IPhone, Galaxy, or whatever model mobile phone one carries. Many of our transportation systems also have built-in luxuries such as recharging stations and WIFI hotspots to make sure we stay connected to that on screen world. Our phones have smart remotes for the garages, smart thermostats that automatically keep us at one ambient temperature, television and, in some cases, you can use your phone app to turn on the inside lights of your home as well. …show more content…

Have we become too dependent on our technology? If an electromagnetic pulse were to somehow encompass the earth and suddenly knock out all technology, could we survive without it? Take, for instance, just the facets of the smart phones we use that require “screen-time.” Our use of these types of technology has become so pervasive that it affects almost every facet of ours and our children’s lives. In order to maintain our ability to act independently of these types of technology, it may be in our best interest to start limiting, at least to some extent, our use of and dependence on them.
