Caring for the Community…One Pizza at a Time
Running a franchise of a restaurant, any restaurant, as a franchisee is hard work. Not only are you responsible for providing for plenty of hungry customers that walk through your doors, but you are also responsible for all of the workings that allow this to happen. Managing teams of employees, purchasing supplies, finances, store appearance, and menu items are just a few of the many things that go into running a successful Cottage Inn franchise. Each of the items previously listed and more are vital to producing good food and happy customers, which are what I believe are the keys to success in running a restaurant. Though running a restaurant is hard work, it is also very satisfying work when

In placed where there there are students, there are families, and in turn, plenty of people that I could reach out to with my Cottage Inn franchise. With rich Greek and Italian heritages that embrace family making up the flavors of Cottage Inn’s food, reaching out to families would be important to me as a franchisee, and I would do this through the schools. To accomplish this, I would use an outreach program, to provide occasional treats to and recognize students for outstanding achievements. For example, students who make the honor roll on their report cards or to all students at the end of the school year, could be provided with a coupon to receive a complementary small pizza in recognition of their …show more content…
For both, in turn, students would be encouraged to keep good grades and conduct for the chance to earn a reward sponsored by my store. I would even encourage employees to make it special if a family with a child came in to redeem their reward by commending the student for their hard work, reaching them and their families in the community. Schools are not the only place that the community can be reached out to, as there are plenty of other organizations that serve great purposes in society. Non-profits, such as youth organizations, scout groups, cancer charities, missionary groups, and churches are just some of the groups that exist to make a difference on the lives of people in the community, that are always looking for funds. Whether for general expenses for already established programs, trips, outreach activities, or service projects, money is tight, and a popular way for fundraising today are through events known as “spirit
On a recent Saturday morning in May, Boy Scouts from Troop 11 in Cave Creek arrived at the Civitan Village in Phoenix to remove a decaying wood patio, which is being replaced with a cement one. In a just a few short hours, heavy cement pots were moved and the platform structure was cut-up and thrown into a large trash container where it was hauled off by the city. From June through early August, teenage volunteers spend a week at Camp Civitan in Williams helping camp staff with nearly 50 disabled campers who attend the camp for the socialization, recreation and adventure. Members of organizations, such as the Fraternal Order of Eagles, do odd jobs, run crucial errands, and make deliveries of food for our commercial kitchen. And then, there are donors who provide financial support or materials and supplies. A few weeks ago, we received yoga mats from strangers who read an article that we were in need. One gentleman
Millennials might become the generation that die before their parents, and it is because of health related issues. The U.S begun this unhealthy downwards spiral in the 70’s when kids started coming home to empty houses, and working people would come home very late and tired. People needed an alternative to cooking that was fast and cheap, which is where the processed food industry began and exploded. Now, most people would believe that the food industry is the most culpable. However, that person should have learned personal responsibility. This generation of 18 to 26 year olds could be the solution to this problem. Millennials are going to be the future parents and lawmakers who could improve the way health is viewed here in the United States. In order to fix this problem of obesity and obesity related diseases, millennials must take personal responsibility and make healthier choices, as well as pass on what they learn to future generations.
I have served in the service committee at Collin College in Frisco. Our chapter has done many fundraising and fellowship events for students within Collin College and with other colleges in Dallas/Fort-worth area. We are currently working on a project called Miracle Network Dance Marathon. It is a fundraising event for the kids at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in Dallas. With the mission “dance for those who can’t,” participants stand or dance to music constantly for a period of time. Our first Dance Marathon will be on December 2nd. In addition, I have been volunteering at Frisco Family Service, Parr Library, and many other one-time events such as BT5K of American Brain Tumor Association’s.
They can have counseling sessions for students and play BINGO like some companies do to reward employees with money when they aren’t absent.
They celebrated with a spaghetti dinner.” (p. 2)This evidence indicates that a reward at the end could teach students to dedicate themselves to something and stick with it as well as work hard. These skills could stick for some students and could carry over into school work and daily life. A simple reward at the end also can provide motivation for the kids. Some might say that providing a reward is corrupting the motives and morals of the participating students, but it is still teaching the kids valuable

This program could also be implemented at a low cost; the cost of paper for copying along with other types of low-cost material could ensure the success of school program that could be done twice a school year in the semester setting. As an administrator, you could remind your students and staff that, “a price tag cannot be placed on a successful future,” and to donate time to promoting the ideas of planning for a successful future; whether in a job or higher education for all students.
Observe students behavior when they come in with parents, help to provide free breakfast and lunch for students, and identify students who might need some social interaction. It is important to “educate student’s caregiver about school resources” (Jensen, 2016) and outside resources. It is important that the staff has an in service to be able to identify students that might need
During my junior year of high school, I was an officer in my school’s Interact Club. We usually participate in at least one service trip each month which is coordinated by our activity supervisor, Mrs. Lazzaro. Last year, I reached out to the Activities
Not having to answer to a corporate boss is the dream of many and the flexibility that owning a business franchise creates provides this option. Success is not reached by simply creating a business, however. The level of success is measured by the size and efficiency of the business. Business growth is the driving force of the economy. The additional jobs and revenues created when a business expands allow the economy to grow at exponential rates. One of the fastest and most popular ways to increase the size of a business is to turn it into a franchise, which can then be purchased by individuals. Franchising provides opportunities that are beneficial to both the parent company and the purchaser. The company that owns the business can expand without having to pay such a large initial cost to open a new store since the franchise purchaser pays a cost to open the business. As well, the company can regulate many of the business activities so that there is a sense of consistency throughout all of the locations. The purchaser is allowed to use the trademarks and goods of the franchise which already have a large market presence. As well, they are provided with training and work standards by the company to help their business run smoothly (Kalnins & Lafontaine, 2004, p.761). Looking at the business model of the world’s largest food retailer, McDonald’s, provides great insight into franchising and business growth in general as well a better understanding of a global business that utilizes the franchising technique.
Three HR management implications for Angelo 's Pizza vision statement: to expand the number of stores and eventual franchise, while focusing on serving high quality fresh ingredients:
Making the decision to open your own business is a major life event. Starting a new venture can be exciting as well as rewarding. The first step to becoming a business owner is choosing the type of business you would like to run. This business can be something that you have wanted to start up yourself or you can go with an established franchise. Are you willing to share the profits in exchange for the relative safety of a franchise or would you prefer the risk and rewards of pursuing your own vision? Franchising is a continuing relationship wherein a franchisor provides a licensed privilege to the franchisee to do business and offer assistance in organizing, training, merchandising, marketing and managing in return for a monetary consideration
Though, the concept of community service is not very new, its importance has developed in the past few years. Marketing a restaurant is the most important part in running a restaurant. If a restaurant is not marketed, no one will know about the restaurant causing it to lose money to operate forcing it to close down. The first step in any business is to think of or create a business idea. Without an idea, one cannot launch their business off the ground. A right direction is needed to create a business with a unique idea. However, other options include franchising or buying an existing business (1). Franchising allows an individual to run stores such as Burger King or McDonalds under the corporate name. It involves taking training classes and a heap of money in order to start a franchise. A Franchisee will have to buy products and services from the corporate entity they are franchising from, which is often required. Buying a franchise is like taking a piece of the pie from the company that is franchising and sharing that pie with everybody else. In addition having a franchise allows one to communicate and in essence become a big part of an added business opportunity (4). Franchising is far from easy to start and maintain for that matter. Starting a franchise involves a l...
A franchise is simply investing money in a location or store, and then having the store become your own business after learning how to manage the entire business. You earn the majority of the profits, and you also don't have to worry about operations. You'll be taught by the company on how it run the entire business, and this is the reason why this is a huge and very easy way to become rich. Franchises require quite a hefty investment depending on the business you plan to buy. However, if the business is in high demand, there is profits to be made. Take for exMple the Cold Stone Creamery business. Countless people purchase one of their many franchises. The money is very good, the opportunities are endless, and the fact that there is no more need for advertising is what makes this more worth the investment in the long
