Career research reflection paper
Introduction
As an Economics with Business student, I hope to pursue a career as a data analyst after completing my degree. Education has been playing an important role in my life since I started my journey in learning, I have always understood the significance of education. I believe it is one of the major factors for my future career development. However, a research published in 2010 by Higher Education Careers Service Unit (HECSU) reveals that to be more employable graduates will also need to have a certain set of skills. The following skills are the ones most of the employers seek: dedication and commitment to quality work, basic literacy and numeracy, the ability to work well as a team; good communication skills, demonstrating self-motivation and a basic ability to use IT (Atfield & Purcell, 2010). Furthermore, the report "What do graduates do? (2016)" also suggests,

Since all of them have highlighted the importance of good writing and spoken communication skills. To enhance this claim, I found that good communication skills are also listed in the study published by HECSU as one of the most desirable skills employers seek (Atfield & Purcell, 2010). Moreover, the interview with the Economic policy analyst in the EU Commission has showed that motivation is so important that will give you high job satisfaction. Based on my research, I learned that an employee who is passionate about your job will have higher job motivation, therefore resulting an increase in job performance (Springer, 2010). ). I am certain that my preferable future career will be more similar to the interviewee in the EU Commission rather than the Economics specialists in Palgrave Macmillan. Therefore, to summarise and answer the question stated in the introduction I would say Macroeconomics is more relevant to my future
My life experiences thus far bring the best of both worlds to my education and career goals; a student coupled with a variety of life experiences. Being a newly graduated non-traditional student, mother of school-aged children, and experience working with students in the classroom, I bring diversity to your program. Through personal analysis and efforts with other professionals, I have overcome early childhood tragedies. Desiring to make the best use of my experiences by helping others to overcome trauma, and insecure upbringings by conquering these adversities and circumstances positively. Through my example of grit, tenacity, resilience, and perseverance, I hope to offer much to the students in my role as their mentor.

So with looking further into all of the different criminal justice paths I could go down and with my love for science I thought being a forensic scientist would be the perfect job. After I’m done with college, my successful will continue. Regardless my main goal is to just be happy, and never have to struggle for anything. But, when I think about my future the first thing I always think about is the car I want. Which is so odd because I should be thinking about a place to live, and a family maybe first, then a car. But no, I want my all white Cadillac CTS. Depending on what year I get enough money to purchase this perfect car, I’m going to want to the newest year. Just so I can have all the newest interior and the technology. I want to one day, have a family and a decent sized house in a big city. I haven’t really decided yet if I either want to go into the FBI or just work for the local police station wherever I decide to live.

Life goes on as well as we moving on, in order to live a happy life, money, passion, happiness and the meaning of it are essential keys. Among thousands of jobs and over billions of people, having a career or achieving a job is not only important but also competitive. Therefore, deciding what you are going to become has always been the toughest decision in life. I am not talking about Mozart, who was born to play and compose music, or Cristiano Ronaldo who decided to pursue for his career as a football player at the age of 14. I am talking about me and my just-found-out-career in a couple hours earlier, Nursing.
Twenty years ago, the typical college graduate looked forward to a 9 to 5 job with a detailed job description. The outlook to the future was to have a long history with the same employer with a pension waiting upon retirement. Today, business and industry are downsizing and reorganizing. Businesses are trying to increase productivity while decreasing costs. In today’s world, it is vital that the future workforce have good communication skills along with technical knowledge in career performance.
Students will have the chance to be an “all-around player”. This meaning having a student be able to go into multiple career choices means that they will have an organized understanding of the fundamentals and will be very versatile. Employers nowadays seek certain things in people to see if they are the right person to hire for the job. “Ability to work in a team, ability to make decisions and solve problems, ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, ability to communicate verbally with people inside and outside an organization, and the ability to obtain and process information. Through the past three years I’ve spent at high school, I have developed and have grown intellectually.
According to the study of this course, I have learned many useful management skills and I feel like these skills will be applied to my future career development. When working on the self- assessment tests, I found myself fall into the category of the ISTJ personality types, which as illustrated by Myers Briggs, is the type of personality that is conscientious, considerate, and helpful. Personality traits such as honest, dutiful, practical and responsible are my strengths; personality traits such as stubborn, insensitive and poor communication skill are my weaknesses. Related to the knowledge I have learned in the course I believe both strengths and weakness will have influence to my future career development. In this reflection paper, I will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses that may place the most influence on my way of success.
Employability is a multifaceted concept and one of the major subjects of debate in terms of what it is, how it is measured, how it is developed, and who is responsible for it. It is also one of the widely debated issues of accrediting and determining world class higher education institutions which could go a long way in systematically improving the performance of an institution as well as an individual. Most of the studies regarding employability have found lesser understanding of this concept especially in graduates who need to be well versed with the concept of employability as they are the force that ignite this notion and take it forward to the workplaces and to the employers they encounter during their careers.
