One believes that being goal oriented has an influence on becoming a peek performer. What is my definition of a peak performer? An individual who visualizes their dream, set long-term goals and do everything within that time to achieve every goal that he or she set. Bethel further explains on what it means to be a "peak performer" . Peak performers come from all lifestyles, ages, cultures and genders. Anyone could become a peak performer by setting goals and developing appropriate attitudes and behaviors to achieve the results they want. Peak performers are those who become masters at creating excellence by focusing on results. They know how to change their negative thoughts into positive and realistic affirmations. They focus their long-term goals and how to break down goals into daily action steps. (Bethel University, 2013.) So becoming a peak performer has nothing to do with who you are, but has a lot to do with who you want to be, your determination and drive all plays a huge part.

When the word "self-assessment comes to mind one automatically thinks about what they can do to be a better person overall. People tend to analyze every part of their life just so that they can become the best at whatever they do, whether if it is from a personal or professional perspective. I apply self-assessment to my daily life duties. For example, my profession is an ongoing learning experience, each day I learn something new. In the beginning, there was a time frame when I challenged myself to have a better performance than I had the day before, I gave myself a self-assessment. Some tools that I utilized during this process were things such as, learning policy and procedure, training with my colleagues and preparing for a different situation everyday. I believe that me utilizing a method such as a self-assessment helped me improved in my personal and professional
What it means to be a peak performer to me is to be motivated and dedicated take risk step outside of the box. A peak performer are always thinking on their feet they never have a duh moment because they have already planned ahead. I read "Being a peak performer is described as someone who is recognized for consistently maintaining high productively levels and going above and beyond". To me that means that you have set a goal and you will not stop until you have fully accomplished what you set out to do. I have set many goals one is returning to college I set aside so many of my responsibilities to make sure I 'm able to finish school. I also know peak performers qualities there learning styles and how to maximize their learning they involve they make sound judgments and effective decisions so they use their head and think things through.
The self-assessment test shows people their areas of strengths and weaknesses (Bethel University, 2014). In order to achieve success people must learn to use their strengths and improve their weaknesses. The first step in this process is learning which skills are strengths and which are weaknesses (Bethel University, 2014). After taking the test I was pleased to find I had more strengths than weaknesses. However, the test brought to light issues that I did not realize could be hindering my success. My management skills need the most improvement.
This study demonstrated that pop music influences happiness mood. As hypothesized participants in the pop music category were influence by the music and seem happier. The analysis revealed that participants in the rock and classical music categories didn’t have an effect in their mood. The results for rock and classical music did not supported the hypothesis, which rock music causes a person to have an aggressive mood, and classical music will lead to a calmer mood. The data support the primacy effect pop music results supported the hypothesis that pop music leads to a happier mood. The results from this data support from previous literature research such as the pop category. The results could also interpret as support for (Hargreaves, 1999). People make their music preferences based on the emotional state they are in (Hargreaves, 1999). The analysis revealed that pop music scored higher than students who had rock or classical. The implications for this study are to examine if music influence mood in a negative or positive aspect). As an outcome happiness mood correlated with pop music . There wasn’t no effect between rock music and aggressive mood. Classical music didn’t have a relationship between classic music and calm mood. The results of this study wouldn’t be able to support (Jordana Mena, 2007). This consists of classical music being composed with different emotions based on the key and time signature it is on. If the classical piece is written in a higher key then they saw different mood responses than the classical pieces written in a low key (Jordan Mena, 2007). This study has provided that music is more than just a piece, of a lyric, beat, or instrument it has been proven that music can help people ...
I found this assessment extremely useful since it helped me see my weaknesses and strengths clearer. Knowing what my strengths and weaknesses are helps me know what sort of emotions or habits I need to be careful of and what qualities I can improve and/or
As Erik puts it “There are summits everywhere. You just have to know where to look” (Greenfeld 261). Just because his summit was a literal summit, doesn’t mean everyone has to climb mountains to find theirs. The smallest thing can be a peak in one's life. His words fill me with eagerness to take all the minor moments for something more. To see them as my own summits. They can be anything from getting an A on a big test to getting more playing time in a sport. Literal summits or metaphorical summits, everybody has them, they just needs to know where to
Self-analysis is a way the author reflects on her own personality traits and improve on the known weaknesses moving forward. It is very important because it enables her to succeed in college. Reflecting on the already-known strengths and weaknesses, she can identify five learned behaviors that will not empower her to succeed in the nursing program. After taking the above actions, I will make both quantitative and qualitative measures to evaluate my skills whether or not are improved. The quantitative measure is to make a survey that asks for categorical questions to my peers or groupmates who need to rate a response 1-10 marks every time. Every result of survey would be calculated and compared, which I can know what I should improve more and what I have achieved. Also, I will apply qualitative measure, like verbal interview, that ask open-ended questions for peers to get evaluation or feedback.
With analysis and evaluation, you can mull over your existing knowledge whilst also helping to create new ideas and gain further knowledge, as a result, you may make subtle to large changes in the way you conduct your actions, behaviour, treatments and learning needs, taking time to write down reflections can help clarify the thought process, as opposed to thinking over them, having a pen and paper can help
As we reviewed the self awareness module this past week it was very interesting to see how the self assessments provided the class information about their own personal human behaviors. I was aware of most of the information provided but there were some tendencies I was surprised to find fitted my character. It was good to be reminded of the things I had forgotten about myself. Learning about my individuality and how I interact and respond to others based on my traits, personality and behavior has been an awakening experience. It is also great to know that I can work on areas that need improvement to become a more balance person to better assist my subordinates, teams and organizations.
Well I guess I’ll start off this paper by being outright honest. I have never done this type of self-assessment exercise. So I’ll start this paper off with what exactly this type of self-assessment is. These types of self-assessments are meant to help show the individual (me) where my strengths lie and also where my weaknesses are as well so that I may try and lean on my strengths while improving on my own shortcomings. Essentially the Johari Window four regions model that we learned about is a great tool for this assessment. The first region is also known as the open area, which essentially means that this is what is known by the person about him/herself and is also know by others. The second region is known as the blind area in which this is information unknown by the individual but is known by others. Which could be behaviors that an individual does but does not realize that they are doing them. The third window is known as the hidden area. This area is essentially information that only you know about yourself and others do not. The fourth area is known as the unknown area. It’s known as that because this is information that you and others do not know about you. It’s when you take a look at these four areas and see your strengths and/or weaknesses are at and if you allow yourself to become open to feedback you then can improve on your own shortcomings and become a better leader.
I realised that self-awareness is important in achieving self-improvement. The more an individual understands themselves, the better he or she is at adapting life changes that is according to their needs. The more self-aware we are, it improves the level of confidence we have on oneselves. This can be achieved through greater exposure, thus widens one’s experiences and will be more likely be more accepting of others. Self-awareness will also benefit us to be more accurate in accessing
Popular music is any music since industrialization in the mid-1800’s and is preferred by the middle class. It covers many genres such as rock, country, R&B, hip-hop, and rap.
When I think of the performing arts, I think of plays. The combination of the live performance and the acting of the script, that’s what makes it a Performing art, right? Yes, but what I did not know is that Dance is also a performing art. Magic, music, even movies are examples of the Performing Arts. When asking the question, I found myself learning about examples and different types of the arts rather than what the definition of what a performing art is. The variety of genres under Performing arts are constituted by the abstract qualities that make up a performing art. To put it simply, the performing arts include a kind of performance. The Performing arts are a combination of both Visual Arts and Literary arts, due to how they are used in
So who exactly needs self-improvement? Is it for a specific type of person? Is it for a group of people? Like adults? Or teens? Or even Children?. Is it for the rich or the poor? Self-improvement is needed in everyone. It does not matter who you are, or what you look like, or the background you come from. We all need Self- improvement. To all of us, Self improvement is needed in our daily lives just like we need food and water. It feeds us with understanding, knowledge, character, and wisdom. Coming from experience, I never thought I needed Self-improvement.I thought I was fine and did not need any adjustment in myself. I thought I was a good person with very good qualities, but I was wrong. You can say that one day, I made a tremendous mistake that lead to a regret but it was the wake-up call for me. Long story short, I thought that I did not need to eat and I use to starve myself but because I did that, I had a major blackout which put me in the hospital and almost died. How I said before, it comes from experienc...
