Capital Punishment - No Solution to the Controversy

The death penalty has been used in the United States since its inception. Throughout American history Federal and State governments have clashed over the morality of capital punishment as well as the most humane way to carry it out. Executions are carried out by the state, which means each state can sentence someone to death by any means that they see fit, provided that it meets constitutional requirements. After the recent execution in which a man died by firing squad, it made me curious as to the current methods that are used and have been used. It is important to me because the controversy of the issue intrigues me, as well as the social stigma associated with it. I think that most other people find it interesting because of the national debate and controversy surrounding it.

My next site was from Clark County Prosecutor. When I reviewed the site I was impressed with the organization and details that it had. After reading through the source it surprised me that ten states still have electrocution, three hanging, and three others with the gas chamber. All of the states still use lethal injection as the primary means unless the prisoner opts out or injection is found to be unconstitutional. The site “clarks county prosecutor” mentioned that lethal injection is done by a one or three drug combination. There is a lot of opposition to lethal injection claiming it to be inhumane and painful. To me, all of the ways to be executed seems painful so it seems the point has no basis to make it more viable of a reason to abolish capital punishment. ...he issue and remember their history to make sure that the judicial system and our country head in the proper direction and not try to imitate failing European nations. After researching this topic it answered my questions, and confirmed my view on capital punishment. While researching my question I began to understand why some people argue with such intensity and commitment even though I disagree with them. I feel that with more inquiring more questions will arise, but no solution to the controversy will be revealed.
