Polly Klaas was one of the victims who had been rapped, kidnapped, and murdered by Richard Allen Davis, a criminal who was given not just a second, but a third chance to live and not be on the death row. In 1976, he kidnapped a woman, and he was sent to jail for five years. After he was released from jail, he abducted, raped, and beat other women. As a result of that, he served eight years in jail. His final victim was Polly Klaas. Davis kidnapped Polly from her home while she was having a slumber party. He entered her home while her mother was sleeping, tied her friends up and abducted her. Capital punishment is known as a death penalty. It is a law that was set by a States government to execute a person who has committed a crime that needs to be punished by death ("Capital Punishment."). From a victim or the victim’s family aspect, capital punishment is set to serve justice because the person needs to be punished for their actions. Referring to Polly Klaas case, Mark Klaas a father of Polly Klaas a teenage girl who was kidnapped and murdered, mentioned that he found closure and justice when the judge chose the death penalty for his daughter 's murderer (Aliferis). Government and people should not look at the death penalty, as expensive. Comparing the loss of an innocent soul that has been raped and murdered with money is irrational. Of course, DNA testing should be conducted before the judge reaches his or her decision of sending the criminal to death row. But, it does not mean that capital punishment is inhuman. Criminals, murders, and rapist, should have thought of the their actions before doing their inhuman
