Somewhere in Nova Scotia, there exist a beautiful park with fascinating scenery. It is in an island that’s surrounded by bodies of water that sparkles like crystals as the sun shine on it. This park must be a creation of aphrodite and it is also known as Cape Breton Highlands Park. It is located at Cheticamp and Ingonish, Cape Breton island, Nova Scotia. It has an area of
949 km². Although it is quite small, it has the best views shown in my poster. In my poster, I drew some animals representing the wildlife in the park. This island have around 40 different kind of land mammals such as the white-tail deer, snow hares and the animals I drew on the poster like the moose, black bear and coyote. The exclusive animals including the Canada lynx, rock voles and Gaspe shrew because they are at risk. I drew a hawk at the right side of the cliff to represent the different kind of birds. The seabirds includes gulls, cormorants, and guillemots; the forest birds includes many song birds, grouse, bald eagles, owls, and as illustrated on my poster hawks too. Cape Breton doesn’t have much reptiles and amphibians because it isolated and cold. I drew a green frog on the rock and a garter snake because they are the most common reptiles and amphibians. In my poster you can see a man fishing at the end of the cliff but his fish is blank, that’s because Cape Breton is home to many fishes so it’ll be a mystery. You can find brook trout, Atlantic salmon and other freshwater fishes by the lake. In the ocean, you can find Atlantic cod and different kind of sharks such as the blue shark and Basking shark. And of course like any other park there are also a lot of pests. You can find different kind of invertebrates in the park such as periwinkles, crabs, spi...

There were actually residents in this park and farming too, but now they’re gone and its area consist of mostly forest though it’s still healing from the farms. Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a beautiful place and should be respected.

This is a report based on three days of observations and testing in the region known as the Peterborough drumlin field. It will address a variety of regional elements, such as climate, soil, vegetation, hydrology, geomorphology, and geology. A variety of sites located on the Canadian Shield, the zone of thick glacial deposits to the south, and the transition between them will be the focus of the report. It is supplemented with previous research on the region. September 8, 1999, day one of the field study involved an area of largely granite bedrock that is part of the Canadian Shield and is the most northern point of study (see Map 2). September 9, 1999, day two, involved three main areas of study: the Bridgenorth esker (Map 3), Mark S. Burnham Park (Map 4), and the Rice Lake drumlin (Map 6). These sites are in areas of thick glacial deposits. September 10, 1999, day three, involved studying the Warsaw Caves (see Map 5) as a transition zone between Precambrian Shield rock to the north and Paleozoic rock to the south. Despite protecting millions of acres of wilderness, this act provided for the numerous groups of people affected by the establishment of this law. Stipulations regarding the use of protected lands by private landowners were made. People living inside the park lands were guaranteed the right to subsistence hunting and fishing, as well as the guaranteed access to their lands. This right of access is the main concern for this argument, as it is a major management issue for park officials and land owners alike.
The area has been turned into a wildlife preserve to help maintain those ecosystems. The
Stanley Park, named after the governor-general Lord Stanley, is a nestled place of nature that is surrounded by the concrete jungle that is known as the city of Vancouver. It allows the residents to take a break from the urban sprawl, all while remaining in the comfort of their own city. While, today it is seen as a change of pace that is smoothly integrated into our city’s culture and transportation networks, the creation of the park and its history actually has a checkered past of conflict and inequality that many seem to have taken for granted. While the park did serve as a site for sore eyes, it was not only a urban park or environmental relief, it was also an indication of the larger trend that was occurring
Cape Fear Valley is a hospital system dedicated to providing healthcare to every patient. I was recently given the opportunity to volunteer for a Cape Fear Valley Health facility, the Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. This paper will discuss the organization, Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital, and my experience as a volunteer for the organization.
Shortly after World War one there was a group of people who started a movement called Dadaism. The Dadism movement was founded due to the disagreements with the previous war and the displeasures of its aftermath. These Dadaist used art to ridicule the war and to show a stand against all that it stood for. In the early 1920’s dadism was no longer a relavent movement and a few years later surrealism took the reigns. It can be said that Andre Breton was one of the founders of surrealism. Andre Breton was relatively involved in dadism, but he felt the need to start his own movement based on his own beliefs and ideals. Being one of the founders of the surrealist movement Andre Breton was a substantial part of its success with his literature alone. In works such as Manifestos of surrealism and Nadja Breton gives precise details on what surrealism is or can be. There texts show why Breton was a predominant part of the Surrealist movement.

Firstly, this practice involves completely clearing an area of trees, regardless of the shape and usability. Then, the remaining scrub and brush are just burned off which leaves smoky haze for several days. Tongues Nation Forest is considered the “crown jewel” of America’s forest because it is the home to 800 years old trees, black and brown bears, wolves, bald eagles, Sitka black-tailed deer, moose, humpback, whales, orcas, sea otters, Steller sea lions. However, Sealaska, the largest private land owner in the Southeast Alaska wants to invade the forest through clear cut logging.Clearcutting or clearfelling can have serious environmental impacts. I am an environmentalist and am very pro- nature and wildlife. I feel that if we as humans are destroying and polluting the Sound, it is our responsibility to join in the effort to restore it for generations of people and wildlife to come.
Over the years, past resources have quickly dwindling. Since then conservation has broadened beyond the use of natural resources, and has become a movement. Many critics of conservation believed it would stifle industrial development, however, the conservation movement has increased development over the years because it forced the need to find an alternative source of power. One of the main concepts of conservation is that it should be used to benefit the many not for the profit of the few, like big business that destroy large areas of wilderness without care for what they are destroying. Preserving wilderness areas will help with the conservation of America’s resources that are quickly dwindling. Algonquin Park is the oldest and most famous provincial park in Ontario and one of the largest in Canada. It stretches across 7,725 kilometers of wild and beautiful lakes and forests, bogs and rivers, cliffs and beaches. This is why Algonquin is also known as a canoeist's and camper's paradise as far as the eye can see.
...leaving a little portion of land to the animals is not that bad. The reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone has been very beneficial to the ecosystem. We tried to eliminate this species but in the end, we need to ask ourselves the question, do we really need to eliminate another species based on our own biases and fears? We need to look past personal gain, and leave nature to take its course.
