I’ve been greatly attracted to the idea of attending Denison College ever since I went to the College Fair in Aspen, CO last October and talked to your representatives there. A close friend of mine and her mother also visited Denison last spring and spoke highly of the exquisite beauty of the campus which sits on top of a ridge surrounded by many other hills, a different but appealing kind of terrain for me. They enjoyed the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and students whom they encountered and the smallness of the classes they attended. They were also impressed with how clean the campus appeared. Though my friend will remain in CO for her college experience, I want to attend college in a different State, a new place altogether for me. I feel that Denison College and Ohio is where I belong. I don’t mind cold weather or cloudy days. I like the idea of having access to a large city, but safely living on a campus which is located in a quaint and pretty town where there is an eastern like feel all around.

Denison also meets other aspects of my criteria for a college. My current plan is to major in Nursing. Since I have researched Denison thoroughly, I have found many strong reviews about the Nursing program at Denison. I am prepared and excited to spend the last two years of my undergraduate years at Case Western Reserve. I also plan to study abroad, particularly in a Third World country with a program geared towards healthcare.

While at Denison, I’d like to get involved with the dance program and possibly the Dance Team. I am passionate about dance. My years on the Hotchkiss High School Dance team have been especially important to me in finding myself and building my self-esteem. I am happy that dance is very much apart of Denison’s curriculum and club activities. I also look forward to participating in the yoga and rock climbing clubs. I’m pleased Denison has no sororities or fraternities.

Denison College has remained my number one college of choice since I began my search in earnest.

Essay about Abolishing the Electoral College

- The Electoral College today is a very complex system of voting and campaigning. When it was first created, the Framers thought the average citizen of their day was not intelligent enough to know who should be leading their country. So they created the Electoral College which was run by people who knew what they were doing. The Electoral College is a body of people who represent each state and they determine the president. The real question is: Has the Electoral College gotten too far out of hand where it needs to go....   [tags: votes, candidates, party]

Evaluation of Police Officer Candidates Essay

- Workforce selection practices have become more prominent over the years, particularly with law enforcement recruitments. This enhanced use of process selection allows for more advanced methods of assessing police officers. One reason for this extreme emphasis on selection systems is the elimination of unqualified police recruit applicants, thus ensuring that monetary resources are not wasted on the ill-equipped (Cochrane., Tett., & Vandecreek, 2003). Several factors impact the potential success or failure of police recruits, including tertiary studies; efficient communication skills; previous moral and ethical behaviour and psychological adequacy of recruits....   [tags: Selection of Law Enforcement Candidates]

The Price of College Essay

- Is it fair to charge one customer a higher price for the same product because they have more money. Most people would say no, just because they earn more money doesn’t mean they should have to spend it. This is one of the reasons why it’s not right to consider basing college tuition prices on income. Determining how much a student pays for college based on income could give everyone an equal opportunity to go. However, it would create budget issues, unfair pricing and a lack of student motivation....   [tags: higher learning, college Education]

The Electoral College Essay

- I choose to agree with the Electoral College. I don’t want a direct popular election because I want the smaller states to still have a voice, but, if America switches to direct popular election, the way things are, might just go worse. There are some good reasons for a direct popular election, and there are not good reasons for one too. I like the Electoral College a lot, and I would like the voting system to keep it that way. However, our founding fathers created the Electoral College, being the geniuses they are, created a good way to elect a president that would not cause chaos or havoc in the country....   [tags: Electoral College, USA,]

Unfairness in the Electoral College Essay

- If you think on the Election Day, you just voted for US president, than you are mistaken, just like millions of Americans who hope their votes would pick next president. When voting for President, we actually vote for state electors who hold Electoral votes. Electoral votes are the votes that decide victory of candidate in election. This Electoral College System has limited democracy to people in major three ways. Electoral college holds an ability to alter result of Election over popular votes, discriminates candidates to campaign in certain states not others, and creates high voter turnouts....   [tags: Electoral College, USA, ]
