In Sickness and In Wealth The video “In Sickness and In Wealth” is about how healthy your body is connected to your means of health. In this video it views the life of four individuals with different lifestyles and different levels of income. In this video it displays the life of a CEO, lab supervisor, janitor and unemployed mother, all from Louisville, Kentucky. It explained how their social class affect their standard of living as well as their health. In this video demonstrate how social class shapes access to control, resources and opportunity, resulting in a health-wealth incline. In the video the health of the CEO was much better than the life of those who live in lower social class. The CEO has more access to the resources and opportunity, which means he has the best health simply because he can afford more than the others. People in lower classes are more likely to get sicker more often and to die quicker. People in metro Louisville reveal 5- and 10-year gaps in life expectancy between the city’s rich, middle- and working-class neighborhoods. Those who live in the working class neighborhood face more stressors like unpaid bills, jobs that pay little to nothing, unsafe living conditions, and the fewest resources available to help them, all of these contribute to the health issues. After watching this video I agree with what the video is stating. There is a connection between health, wealth, and education. In the video the people who lived a wealthier lifer and had a better education lived healthier lives. For example the CEO and the mother of the three. The CEO lived a healthier life than the mother of three. I believe what can be done to make this better is providing better and more affordable health care. The U.S should look into how other country can afford to give everyone health insurance and try to use that method
