Imagine yourself as a teenager: how would it feel to have your first job? For me, having a job means you have transitioned from childhood to adulthood. It means that you have a sense of independence and do not have to rely entirely on your family or friends for money. The feeling of independence is inspiring because you are matured enough to do what they want responsibly. Getting my paycheck every two weeks felt so rewarding because I was making money on my own. However, keeping a job can be one of the most challenging parts of any teenager’s life, especially while being in school.

Right now, I am volunteering my time at the University Hospital in Newark, NJ, expecting to complete two-hundred hours of community service before I graduate high school. In the near future, one of my career goals is to become a Nurse Anesthetist. Being as young as I was, I wanted to take an early head start towards my first success in life. Through my work experience I have gained adversity, integrity, and success. These special feelings have allowed me to truly appreciate life and the service I have done for the community. Because I want to give back to the community through my service and I prove the characteristics of being independent and a team player, I am willing to explore life more and strive to become a Nurse Anesthetist.
