PURPOSE

To ensure that all Blush employees’ observe and follow applicable policies and agreements.

POLICY

Employees’ may engage in social media activities during business hours, according to the following guidelines. When engaging in social media activities, employees’ must observe and follow (i) the existing company policies and agreements, (ii) the policies or “terms of use” of the particular social networking venue, and (iii) applicable law. In order to ensure compliance with this policy, the company may access and monitor its information and electronic communication systems, without notice to users of the system.

Social Media Overview

Social media is significant in the way that we professionally and personally communicate. Essentially, social media is a public facing conversation that occurs online and can be easily accessed by anyone to view or comment.

Examples of social media include, but are not limited to the following:
• Social networks (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn)
• Bookmarking sites (e.g., StumbleUpon)
• Social news (e.g., Reddit)
• Media sharing (e.g., YouTube, Flickr)
• Microblogging (e.g., Twitter)
• Blog comments and forums

Social media is continually evolving and the “rules of engagement” are not always clear. As a result, lines can be blurred between work and personal life, internal and external communication, or between media and audience.
