In education bullying is a serious issue that teachers need to try to stop and prevent! Bullying can lead to many problems in the classroom and with the students. A teacher should make sure all their students are being included and that they are aware that bullying is not allowed. A teacher should make activities and lessons to make sure the students know what bullying is and how to prevent bullying. By using poor family structure, cyberbullying, school shootings, and why bullies do what they do will show the reader what bullying is and how was can stop bullying.
What is a bully? A bully is defined as a person who uses higher power and unkindness to threaten another person to force him or her to do what the bully wants. Bullying can be found almost everywhere; in homes, on the internet, and especially in schools. Bullying is a serious issue in most schools today and it is a teacher’s job to try and prevent this. Bullying has a lot of consequences that affect people in many ways. Recently, bullying has been blamed for the rising number of teenage suicides all over the country. According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying. (James 1) According to Kropar, no one is born to be a bully; it is a taught skill. A victim of bullying doesn’t ask to be hurt; it’s a product of ignorance from today’s society. Bullying has become a problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible to protect victims everywhere especially in schools. (Kropar 1)

In conclusion, bullying needs to stop because bullying is a criminal act. Bullies harass, make threats, terrorize, and use verbal and physical abuse on their victims. Today’s society needs to stand up to bullies and not let them strip people of their self-esteem. Bullies must face the consequences of their actions with either therapy or some version of criminal punishment. People who have been bullied can, in an attempt to gain their power and self-esteem back, become bullies themselves. In relation to this, bullies who are not confronted or stopped may find themselves in future positions where they can bully as adults. This is where manipulative bosses and child abusers come from. People of today’s society must all work together to help prevent and to stop bullying!
