Bullying can be seen as a situation whereby someone uses superior strength or influence to make someone do something against their own will.
Bullying takes place everywhere in different forms. Most people experience bullying in schools growing up, where seniors ask junior ones to do things against their own will or even collect things from them like money and other valuables. Most times, teachers and other school authorities try to solve the problem but in most situations fail and the problem reoccurs. Bulling also takes place in most organisations, if not all. In situations where managers use force, to command others to do things they do not want to do willingly and threatens their job if they do not do as instructed.
Bullying is a problem that has existed for a very long time, and has been tried to be resolved but unfortunately has not been resolved. This is why in most organisations, there is a human resources department which is supposed to be there to deal with issues such as organisational bullying and maltreatment of employees. If an employee is bullied or not maltreated and reports such situation to a human resource practitioner, the HRP does not see the case as bullying and therefore does nothing about it. This is done because they are afraid of jeopardising their relationship with the mangers and this therefore brings distrust between Employees, Human Resources and Managers. It is expressed through a variety of methods including physical, verbal, cyber, and relational. Bullying occurs when an individual or group attempts to gain power over another individual through physical or verbal abuse. The bully or the perpetrator would choose a specific individual or victim whom they would terrorize. There are numerous reasons why one would be a target. Here are a few but are not limited to these. People are prone to be bullied based on their appearance, background, ethnic, skill, knowledge or what they have done.

A review of the text reveals that there are many definitions of workplace bullying. According to Weidmer (2010), “workplace bullying is “ the repeated, health-harming mistreatment of one or more person’s (the targets) by one or more perpetrators that takes one or more of the following forms: verbal abuse, offensive conduct/ behaviors (including non-verbal) which are threatening, humiliating, or intimidating; and work interference/ sabotage which prevents work from getting done” (p.35).” This definition is helpful as it captures the essential relating to the efforts of the bully.
Although almost every state in the United States of America has a state law or a policy about bullying, its consequences, and how to report it, the laws and policies have not been fully effective. Bullying by definition is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes another person injury or discomfort. With social media outlets and text messaging added to the game, bullying is not just about getting tormented face to face anymore. Cyber bullying can include sending out mean or threatening emails and instant messages about a person, spreading rumors about someone and also include photos that a person would consider to be humiliating. But the other outlets, such as cyber bullying are definitely not something to take lightly or consider low on a scale of importance. Sexual harassment, racial differences, not being “cool enough”, or just simply being viewed as a weaker individual may attribute to many of the reasons a person is preyed on.
Bullying does not have a standard definition. Bullying can be anything from calling someone else names, beating them up just for the fun of it, to texting or messaging them on the internet or any mobile device. Any person can be the victim of bullying, not just children. Bullying causes many issues, physically, emotionally, and mentally, not only for the victim, but for their entire families as well. Bullying of students in school is an abuse that affects and produces a number of negative experiences on the victim. It is proven that those students who bully do so merely because they see themselves superior than those being bullied. Bullying is an issue that is a problem in society today. Bullying is any kind of unwanted behavior to an individual on repeated occasions which is a display of power over someone. Bullying is mainly common among students in school, and unfortunately, it happens in other places like at home between parents and children, and on rare occasions, among adults.
