Breast cancer starts when a cancerous tumor is found in the breast. The cancer will eventually spread to all parts of the breast, but for it to do that, it must first mature. This is why it is very smart for women to have frequent mammograms to determine if she is at risk. Cancer is incurable. Scientists are working very hard on finding either a cure or a solution to the disease. Breast cancer is a very common disease. It is a multi-dynamic disease that is also the second leading cause in death among women.
Breast cancer starts in the tissue of the breast. There are two main types. One is called ductal carcinoma, which starts in the tubes of the breast and transfers milk from the breast to the nipple. The second one is known as Lobular carcinoma. It’s job is to produce the milk, but it starts in the lobules of your breast. (MedicinePlus Medical Encyclopedia). For women living in the United States breast cancer is known to be the most common cancer, other than skin cancer. The chances of a middle aged women having invasive breast cancer is one in every eight will get it. The chances of her dying is one in every thirty-six women.
Scientists record that the rates for statistics of breast cancer have been dropping rapidly. From 2002 to 2003 the rates dropped seven percent. They tend to believe that it is because of technology, as well as being able to get better treatments for the patients. Secondly, they are finding the cancer earlier than before and it’s not already in an incurable stage. Currently there are over two and a half million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. (About Breast Cancer). I have shared with you in this paper everything that I know and have researched on breast cancer. I hope it was some help to you, if that is what you were looking for. Breast cancer is a serious, drop dead matter. It is certainly nothing to be taken lightly. There are many, many survivors just in the United States alone that have gotten through breast cancer. They have fought a very good fight. The disease is a multi-dynamic cancer that is also the second leading cause in death among women. With it being the second leading cause in death you have to know its importance. Cancer patients that have lived through it have a very good story to tell.
