Panay Island is an island in Asia situated in the Philippines famous for constituting the beach capital of the world - Boracay Island.

Boracay Island is located off the northwest corner of Panay in Region VI of the Philippines. The island is approximately seven kilometers long, looking like a stretched dog-bone shaped with the narrowest spot being less than one kilometer wide.

It has been written that its history prior to its discovery by the outside world remained well kept and well guarded. The Native Islanders and Atis lived together privately and in harmony in the island. The Atis or "Aetas" the indiginous peoples of Boracay, as original settlers and the islanders being the first settlers were farmers and fishermen.
