Pizza has been one of America’s favorite Italian foods since it was introduced to the United States in the early 1900’s. Since then, it has grown into a lucrative industry with restaurants such as Domino's, Papa John's, Incredible Pizza, Mazzio's, and Little Caesars becoming increasingly popular across the country. Every restaurant has its unique way of preparing pizza and each one is always coming out with new and appetizing products. So how can one choose his or her favorite pizza place? Although I haven’t tried every pizza place in my town, I did set out to compare two of the most popular.
As I entered the small pizza joint, I was promptly welcomed to Little Caesars by a friendly woman behind the counter. It didn’t take me long to choose, since there was not much to choose from. I went with a five dollar “hot-n-ready” pepperoni pizza and side of “crazy bread.” I decided the pizza was aptly named since it wasn’t long before I had a piping hot pizza handed to me. Many choose their restaurant of choice based on either those they are with, their personal, cultural appetite, their routine eating habits or their mood. Some of these preferences are similar yet others are the deciding differences. Two common franchise restaurants that pose differences are Applebee’s and Olive Garden. In the early 2000’s the housing market boomed, real estate was a hot investment and everyone was looking to buy a home. However not everyone can afford a home and a majority of people were forced to take out a mortgage to purchase real estate. During the housing boom banks were supplying subprime loans and upping the risk in the real estate market. These loans were not only risky but irresponsible on the part of the banks’ lending them, and although individuals receiving the loans thought they were being helped at the time, these loans were a major reason why so many people their homes, almost crippling toe U.S economy as a whole.
While the organic movement has increased the production and sale of organic food in the United States, something that should be noted is that the stock of Whole Foods Market, a grocery store is dedicated to the sale of organic food, has gone down 40% since October of 2013. Whole Foods Market’s success rates are slowly beginning to diminish and it may lose its dominance in the organic foods market (The Economist, 2014). Fast food is widely considered a hallmark of American culture, but has spread worldwide. In a society where everyone is always on the go, the fast food industry has persuaded people to give up quality in favor of artificially-enhanced taste and drive thru convenience. Experts often blame fast food for obesity and related health problems. By using advancing kitchen technology to move towards efficient large-scale production rather than increased quality, the fast food industry has created lower quality food, forced lower standards of taste, and has caused adverse health effects in it’s consumers.

We already know that Papa John's is a major player in the Pizza industry but the big question is what does the future hold for them. What is the next step or steps that they must take to get a head of the competition as well as just sustain their place in the market.

It is not a surprise that fast food has become a way of life in America. Every day about a quarter of the adult population n United States visits the fast food restaurant. Every month about 90 percent of children aged 3-9 visit McDonald's. According to Schlosser, Americans spent more than $110 billion a year on the fast food. In his book "Fast Food Nation" Eric Schlosser is not chiefly interested in the consumption of fast food, but his primary objective is to explore manufacturing starting with the unemployment. His book deals with United States politics and raises many social issues.
The fast food industry in America has many drawbacks at the cost of supplying food to the American population. Since many people are ignorant of the process their food goes through in order to become the edible meal they consume, American companies easily take advantage of them. In class, we discussed a “Food Bill of Rights”. I believe that this is necessary in order to keep the food industry safe for the American public and environment. The main focus of my “Food Bill of Rights” is to ensure the fast food industry has the American population’s best interest in mind when producing their food.
During the same period, Little Caesars made a strong push and they have continued to grow. Little Caesars' "two for one" marketing approach was effective in infiltrating the "mom's night off" segment, and is seen by customers as a great value. This is adding direct competition into our niche market share. Little Caesars is surely not making headway with the pizza connoisseurs, but it has effectively targeted a market in which Pizza Hut does not currently have a strong presence. 50% to55% of this market is made up of family dining situations. Our marketing team has conducted multiple data analyses on ways in which we can gain market share from Little Caesars within this market. After much thought and many hours of research, we have devised a marketing plan that will potentially improve our market share.
Domino’s Pizza is operated internationally through a network of 10,255 company-owned and franchise stores, located in all 50 states and more than 70 international markets (Domino’s Pizza Annual Report 2012). There are three business segments which is domestic stores, domestic supply chain and international. The core operation of this company is delivering pizza. Based on number of units and revenue, they rank second largest pizza company in the world. It carry tagline of ‘you got 30 minutes’ in December 2007 to deliver pizza in that time but it is late they will get free pizza or voucher. Free pizzas not apply to all country (Adamy, 2007).
