After the death of his erratic and eccentric brother, a guilt-ridden sibling begins to think his brother might still be alive. STORY COMMENTS SHADOWBOX is a character driven, psychological, dramatic thriller. The script stands out as being highly original and refreshing. There’s nothing predictable about the plot or the characters. The plot is driven by solid themes about abandonment, trust, commitment, betrayal, and life choices. The script also explores strong themes about personal privacy, which is so relevant to today’s society. Essentially, the script centers on the relationship between two brothers and the idea that they have created a “shadowbox” that is able to spy on people and send messages, completely undetected. One brother is completely obsessed with the box, while the other brother is more realistic and sees a practical use to the invention, putting them at odds. At the heart of the story is a vow that the …show more content…
It’s a bit unconventional as a structure. In other words, this isn’t a story in which there’s a strong declaration of an external goal by the end of act one. Jack’s goal is to get the shadowbox to work, but that’s not really what the story is about. It’s about the brothers. The structure also utilizes several flashbacks to narrate the plot. While flashbacks can be disruptive, they actually appear to work in this presentation to move the story forward. Each flashback reveals new information. Owen’s decision to go to the lake is a smart story choice. The tension begins to really escalate as he searches for signs of life. The visions and the laughter are well crafted. The audience vacillates between wondering if Owen is going crazy or if Jack is alive. When Owen finds Jack, there are so many telling moments between the brothers. One is the idea that Jack believes he will die if the shadowbox is
For setting, the scene takes place in a completely white room which is known as ‘the construct’, where depth perception is not relevant, it simply never ends. This is intended to represent a different world other than reality. No room on Earth could be like this. This message is successfully delivered. His costume is, of course, a green shirt with a black coat. Morpheus, who is explaining what this ‘construct’ is, is also wearing green. Character and actor expressions and body language also come into play as you can see the confusion and disbelief in his facial expressions and the questioning looks on his face. Composition or the arrangements of elements in a frame are also used in this scene. There are only two chairs, a table, a remote control, and an old television set in the white room. The chairs are symmetrically placed and are exactly identical with red and brown colors. It was ironic that the television set was an older version as well, not an up-to-date one. This scene is a perfect example of how all five of the elements of mise-en-scene can be used to make a huge impact on the viewer.
The setting of the story is in the future, 2081 of what will be happening in the world. The story is told in third person limited point of view, whereby the narrator is not a character in the book. In addition, the narrator does not draw conclusions, make decisions, or make judgments about the events. The objectivity of the narrator suggests a distancing from the hostile world of the story. The tone used by the author is critical, humorous and satirical. The story is full of humor despite the fact that, it is full of dark themes of oppression. Every dark event in the story is accompanied by a light moment of melancholy comedy.
Cody Blunt’s piece titled The Master of Shadows represents the assassin, Zed. This art piece was created in 2013 for the company Riot Games as the digital concept art for the character Zed. This piece can be found displayed as a representation of the character in their popular multiplayer online battle arena, League of Legends. In The Master of Shadows, Cody Blunt uses complementary colors, value, saturation, tenebrism, shape, and a small variety of different lines to capture the resting energy of Zed and provides a serene and mysterious interpretation of a lifeless city.
1. The narrator was from a dramatic, objective point of view. The narrator sees all that is going on but does not know all, such as the lottery choosing who will be stoned. The narrator only provides the information that is currently going on, they do not draw conclusions or interpretations. It is written more like a show that you watch where you can only see what is currently happening, but you can see what is currently happening for everyone.

The movie “Breaking Away” presents the story of a young man from working class origins who seeks to better himself by creating a persona through which he almost, but not quite, wins the girl. The rivalry between the townies and the college students sets the scene for the story of four friends who learn to accept themselves as they "break away" from childhood and from their underdog self-images.

One hour of the best shows performed by the Shadowbox! The Shadowbox kicked off 2018 with an enormous bang, resurrecting the best sketches also songs from over the years. The best of the best show was Epic! February 9th at 10:30 pm, my friends and I waited for the shadow box concert to begin. When the lights flickered, and the room went fully black, that’s when I knew the show was about to begin. Suddenly I heard percussion begin to play with Billy DePerto, followed by some Guitar played by Brent Lambert and Aaron Joseph, dropped some Bass into the mix played by Adam Fauth and Keith Gibson, lastly, they played the Drums played by Rhys Washington. There were several vocalists throughout the night that can sing in a variety of vast range of octaves. When they sang, they did different covers of the song, it made it feel like I was at the actual concert of the real artist.
