They were thought of as the “Robin hood” of the Great Depression. The pair began their raid of robberies on the United States during the 1930s, but their “thrill ride” was short lived. The pair, along with other recruits, beheld terror upon those unlucky enough to meet them. Bonnie and Clyde were a dangerous duo who were on a murderous adventure, and their actions were hurtful and even fatal towards many people and families. Yet the pair is legendary for their unpleasant actions during the Great Depression.

Bonnie was a resilient and smart person. Bonnie Elizabeth Parker was born on October 1, 1910 in Rowena, Texas, and was an honor student in public schools.(1)Her father was a bricklayer, but when Bonnie was four years of age, her father passed away.(1,3)With the loss of her father, Bonnie’s mother moved the family to Cement City in West Dallas.(1) Bonnie worked as a waitress,(3) and she later married Roy Thornton who was eventually arrested.(1,6)

Clyde didn’t have much money growing up, but his amount of money seemed to change in his future. Clyde Chestnut Barrow was born on March 24, 1909 in Ellis County Texas, and was the fifth of seven children.(2) While being poor, his parents were tenant farmers and often sent Clyde to stay with relatives. (2,6) When Clyde reached the age of 12 his parents gave up tenant farming and the family moved to Dallas, Texas, where Clyde and his brother Buck began making money off of petty thieves.(2,6)

The duo met with a love for each other in the beginning, it was practically like love at first sight.
