Biomass Briquetting Plants

1062 Words3 Pages

HUB AND SPOKES MODEL
In this model we propose a two stage hub and spokes model consisting of a large scale biomass consumer like biomass power plant as the centre and it is surrounded by m number of briquetting plants. Each briquetting plant acts as a centre in turn and surrounded by n number of biomass collection centers. The biomass collection centers acts as buying agents and send the raw material to the biomass briquetting plants where they are stored, processed, packed and sent to biomass power plant. The electricity produced is to be connected to the grid to be distributed back to the same rural region. It will be a self sustaining model suitable very well for remote regions and also for any area where there is sufficient availability of biomass waste which is not used for cattle feed. It will generate rural employment and enhance their living standard.
ASSUMPTIONS
1. Each collection center fixes its purchase price depending on the raw material available and its quality, 2. Biomass is not stored in collection centers, they are sent to briquetting plants for storage, 3. Each biomass briquetting plant fixes the price for its product in consultation with biomass power plant regularly, 4. Each biomass collection center should send the material only to its corresponding briquetting plant, 5. Each briquetting plant should send its produce only to the central biomass power plant, should not sell in the retail market, 6. Central biomass power plant should accept all the collected biomass supplied from the m briquetting plants and for shortage of loads it may purchase raw material outside, 7. Money should be settled at real time at all stages of the network.
