Jane Austen was brought into the world on December 16th, 1775. She was born in Stevenston, Hampshire, England. Jane was the 7th child of her parents. Her mom’s name was Cassandra Austen. Her father was George Austen. She had a sister named Cassandra. Her family was mostly made of boys so she had a lot of brothers. Her siblings from oldest to youngest were as the following: James, Edward, Henry, Cassandra, Francis, George, Jane, and Charles. Jane had a close relationship or bond with Henry the most. Jane’s parents were respected by mostly everyone in the community. The kids were pressured into learning by being put into an only learning environment. Mr. Austen tried to farm so that they could get some extra money on the side. The kids were told to go read from their father’s library. The kids put on skits and plays because they were interested in the arts. Jane and Cassandra planned to write a piece together with each others teamwork. When Jane was 8, her and Cassandra got put into boarding school to enforce their general education. While they were at boarding school, Jane contracted Typhus. Typhus is a disease that can spread by lice or fleas. Their journey at the boarding school ended shortly unfortunately. It ended because they had financial difficulties. Once their journey cut short, they returned home. Jane was often interested in stories. She was interested in any kind of book really, whether it was a short story or a long story. She often wrote in notebooks to seize her thirst for writing. She eventually wrote her own novel. The novel was a romantic fiction with multiple love letters creating the book. A 2nd edition was ordered by October. She then got Mansfield Park then got published and got all of it’s copies sold. Jane then gave the services from her publisher who got her famous to an even more well known publisher in London, John Murray. He got Emma, the 2nd edition of Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion published. The 2nd edition of Mansfield Park didn’t get good reviews so it made their funds negative. Jane’s brother Henry, paid the 10 pounds to get the copyright for Susan back. They got the copyright back, and changed the name to Catherine. In 1816, Jane started to get ill. She didn’t let that show that it affected her. Slowly, it started to make her worse and worse. She did get her piece The Elliots published. She started a new novel named The Brothers in January 1817. She wrote 12 chapters before her illness took play.
