What is a hero? Do they put the bad guys in jail and make the community a better place? There are many ways to define what a hero is and who is worthy to be called a hero. Bill Gates is an international hero. Son of a successful lawyer, and whose mother was a businesswoman, expectations for Bill were surely high. Since the age of 13 he created several programs some that included hacking his school’s computer system, and some for his school, which included one that was able to collect every teacher’s attendance. After attending Harvard University for two years he dropped out with his high school alongside classmate Paul Allen, who attended Washington State University. Three traits that make Bill Gates worthy to be called a hero are his passion for what he does, fearless despite his drastic decision to drop out of college, and his commitment to give back to people who are in need.
To begin with, Gates’ passion for computer programming began at young age. He began learning how to code on his at the age of 13, when his parents enrolled him at at Seattle 's exclusive preparatory Lakeside School. His early passion for programming led him to getting in trouble in a couple occasions. One of those occasions he and his friend Paul Allen had their school computer privileges taken away. Reason being he took advantage of software glitches to obtain more free computer time from the company that provided the school computers. Just as his programming got Gates into trouble, it also allowed him to earn money at an early age. At the age of 15, Gates with his friend Paul Allen developed "Traf-o-Data, a computer program that monitored traffic patterns in Seattle, and netted $20,000 for their efforts” (Biography.com). ...urage while not fearing to fail in any situation, and charitable by giving back to communities that need it the most, and those who are in need.Despite getting in trouble in his early life by using coding to bypass school computer rules, Gates was able to use his talent to benefit people around him. His passion for programming only grew as he got older. Until this day, Gates is still very well involved with Microsoft as he is the current founder and technology advisor.No matter what situation anybody may be in, the attempt to make the best out of it is the best we can do. It is always important to never forget your roots. Such as Gates’ he focused on becoming the best programmer he could have become. Now that he accomplished it, he is determined to help many people who are in need by eliminating obstacle that would prevent them from reaching their true potentials.
