From the point that ASL would help Deaf/Hard of hearing students learn English better. To the point, Deaf students should be taught by Deaf/C.O.D.A teachers because good language models help Deaf students learn better. To the point also, early learning is crucial. “ It is imperative that more discussion and training in ASL proficiency be required of educators of the Deaf and those training to become educators.” (Shantie and Hoffmeister, 2003).
