Openness to Experience
Here I had a score of 0. Low scores tend to indicate that I am conventional, have narrow interests, down to earth and am uncreative. This illustrates that I prefer traditional and familiar experiences. As I am low in openness to experience it tends to mean that I enjoy following routines, like predictability and structure and I tend not to regularly engage in my imagination. My beliefs match the status quo and my choices generally go along with mainstream standards. Openness to experience is a highly appreciated quality when working in teams, as team members could be expected to think out of the box and have a keen interest in the world around them, in order to make decisions. Team members who are open and willing to learn have the ability to apply new and cutting edge thinking to their jobs. However, my score indicates that I am closed minded. This influences my ability to/how I work in teams. I am very difficult to manipulate and focus on structured practices. When in teams, I enjoy following rules and routines and my mind is fully focused on traditional and familiar tasks, without getting overwhelmed by the outside world and wasting productive time. If an issue occurs within the team, I will generally stay calm under stress and will always look at positive outcomes instead of worrying about the negative. E.g. Customer deadline has moved forward and the team needs to look at more productive and faster ways to get the product to the customer. Other team members may be worried and stressed about this change, but my trait indicates that I would remain calm and try to find a positive solution without looking at the negatives.
In conclusion, The Big Five Personality test have concluded with results of my traits which offer team’s effective interaction, organized, structured and efficient work, confidence, leadership and positive thinking. However, my unforgiving and assertive nature can be hard to work with when in teams.
