The Bible speaks generously about being diligent while contrasting it with laziness. As a follower of Christ, there are many advantages for us to cease from the Bible, while many unbelievers are chasten themselves, and that is why many of them are dragged into poverty. In this essay, one will be able to comprehend Salomon’s teachings on diligence and laziness, and a great elaboration on wisdom and folly.
One might find several topics over the teachings of Hebrew wisdom about diligence. From reading proverbs, one can say that the difference between diligence and laziness is this. “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor” (Proverbs 12:24 NIV). Proverbs explains how the diligent person will be able to inherit richness, but the lazy person will be the one suffering.
Solomon, who is the author of proverbs, has done a great job elaborating on the word diligence. However, he relates it with laziness for various reasons. From Solomon’s teachings, we have learned a diligent person will never have to worry about what is next because God is always providing for him or her. “Human beings require the infusion of fresh ideas and perspectives at key times, typically when they have a question or are about to make a decision. Proverbs stimulate reflection and enable us to see things in a new way they are a stimulus to insight and decision” (Clifford, 63). As Christians this is a good comparison to make between one that is diligent and one that is not. A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied” (Proverbs 13:4). The diligent person will be the one to benefit from great abundance from God, and that God will bless that person with all of his richness, and that a person who is diligent have a higher chance of being put into higher positions of leadership because that person attributes great qualities from God. The laziness is the one who is more focused into him or her self. That person will experience poverty, addictions, and all the ungodly desires that the world provide. It is required for one to use these teachings in their everyday life, such as, work, Church, school, and with that one will inherit the kingdom of heaven.
