The best memory I have of me doing something reckless would have to be when I was in the 5th grade. The 5th grade was an interesting year as it was the year I started to experiment with my lifestyle and try new things. This was a the time in my life I was really into WWE, also known as World Wrestling Entertainment. I lived to see the Friday Night Smackdown special fight every friday, and sometimes I pretend I was my favored high flyer werster at the time; Jeff Hardy. His character on WWE was one I adored. Women loved him, men wanted to be him, and he was a fearless man. Jeff would jump from heights no one else would imagine of jumping, and he was adored by many for that. That being said, let 's begin my story. It was another morning commute to Highland Park elementary school on the poorly funded school bus that could have been from the 80’s. I had just boarded the bus as was sitting towards the back waiting for my group of friends to get picked up. I looked to my right to see the girl I had the biggest crush on at the moment. I was a shy kid, and never did I have the guts to talk to the girls I thought were really pretty, however, I was a big show off. I preferred to amuse the ladies with my reckless actions and ability to make people laugh with repetitive jokes. The bus soon stopped to pick up my friends. We instantly started talking about WWE and how one wrestler is better than another. It soon got very intense and the arguments started to become real. Some of the guys got up and started to demonstrate wrestling moves on each other. In order to secure my argument about how the jumping finisher is better than the chokeslam, I got up on my seat and ordered one of my friends to hold down my other friend. The sweat was dripping down my face as I pushed the weights off my chest. Everyone ran towards their bags after a student said there was a gun in school. Twitter was the first source that we checked just to make sure. Boom! The door slammed open as coach Ben yells “Hurry up and get out”. My heart started beating faster and faster. We didn’t know what was going on. As we were running to the gym everyone was panicking and pushing each other. I could feel the burn on my elbow but I didn’t know what it was. When we got to the gym my elbow was covered in blood. We were told to get down and stay quiet. Later on we were told a student brought a gun to school and was planning on committing suicide. That was one of many gun incidents at my high school.
Ask yourself, how was your 8th grade year… Was it good, bad, fun, or stressful? Well most of my 8th grade year was bad but the ending actually turned out good. The start of my year was exciting, but that was just the beginning. As time went on and the work started to come in, that's when things turned south for me. I started stressing about everything I had to do, I was getting to overwhelmed. I would catch myself slipping constantly and it was worrying me because I didn't want to get held back a year. I slowly started to lose all interest in all of my work.
Once upon a time there was a boy named Joe and it was his first day in middle school. So Joe and his brother and parents went to open house at the school so Joe and Billy know where there classes are. So then the next day they got on the bus and Joe was playing with his friends from 5th grade that he knows then they got to school. Then Joe ate lunch and the he went to his homeroom and say so of the same people from 5th grade. And Joe told his brother that the first day at school wasn’t so bad. Throughout my life, I had always received recognition for being very agile and quick. My first day of Middle School consisted of the track and field coach attempting to persuade me to join the school’s athletics program. I had previously never been apart of an athletics team, and was willing to take advantage of the opportunity. Throughout my three years of middle school, I was the one consistent member of the school’s track and field team and had an overall successful personal record. Coaches from opposing school would praise me leaving me feeling very confident about myself.
If you knew me in the sixth grade you would have loved me. I was extremely popular but not for sports or anything cool i was just extremely bad. Everyone found my behavior funny. I wanted to keep everyone laughing and keep building my reputation because wanted to be known by everyone. I hated the things that did but i never forgot to love myself.
It all started the first week of grade 10. I was walking to math class and i met up with a few of my lunch crew friends. I noticed my friend Ashlea talking to Erin Berring. Erin was an attractive, smart and fashonable girl. I always had a thing for smarties. In school she had straight A's, and was also the leader of the female wrestling team. I felt a little up on myself that day for some reason. I figured there was no better time then the present to chat it up a little. The conversation went quite well, which was different from what I expected. She even asked for my number so we could continue our talk later that night. "Why would she be interested in me?," I said to myself. After all, she seemed way out of my league.
Some may ask why is life hard. Life is an amazing thing and we shouldn’t take the greatness of it for granted. Today you are going to hear a story about a young teenagers life that has been hiding stuff for his family. This young boy in the story makes it through the struggle he is going through. This is something we all have to do keep our head up and keep going no matter what.
Middle school was one of toughest. It was crucial for me to read, write, and speak English. My sixth-grade teacher wrote on my process report that I needed more practice with my English. So, I was required to be enrolled in an ESL (English second language) class. I was expected to write stories, present my country and culture, and was able to read aloud once month during the school year. It was one of the most challenging thing I have face but with enough practice the reward will be fulfilling. I was determined to do good on these assignments and want to prove people wrong that I can read, write, and speak English. Life is made up of choices. We chose to go to school, choose to be brave and most importantly we choose to smile. I've never been the person to be open emotionally, when it comes to opening up I find the quickest way to change the subject. Middle school was like going through the Mean Girls movie, without the miraculous happy ending. I was lost, an outcast. Have you ever smiled for the wrong reason? Smiling has always been easier than explaining why I'm sad, sometimes all I could do was smile and hold back my tears. I had smiled for so long I didn't know if it was real or not, I thought if I smiled long enough I would forget about being sad, but it only worked for a little while. I came to a new school trying to start a new life by changing the girl people thought was annoying.
Middle School for me was exciting and a little overwhelming but I got through it. First of all, In middle school, they have a lot of frustrating work, which causes me to have horrible headaches and have a lot of stress. Second of all, The people here are very welcoming and fun to be with, and they make feel comfortable in my school. Third of all, The rumors I heard from my friend were horrible, but when I was in Quail hollow for a month or two, the rumors weren’t real, it was the opposite thing that I expected. In conclusion, Middle school is a great place to be but it was something that I didn’t expect.
I had passed through almost all three years of my middle school life and had done absolutely nothing to remember my last year there. The 7th-period bell had rung and I was on my way to my p.e class just keeping to myself as I speed walked all the way across campus to the boys' locker room. After rushing to get my uniform on I once again speed walked over to my roll call spot and stood there patiently waiting for the teacher to arrive. As I was waiting I noticed that something was different in fact, because there were two large wrestling mats laid out across the floors of the gymnasium. The pubescent years of middle school were some of the most evolutionary times of my life. It was a time in which school was ever changing for me. At times the horizon was smooth. Other times, on the other hand, were like a stormy night.
There were a lot of arguments happened around my teenage time. Most of the arguments are little things in life such as my mother waking me up at seven o’clock in the morning on weekdays, helping her clean the house, different opinions on choosing stylish outwears.
Sports-also known as, the only thing small schools can use to get their names out there, that’s why they are such a big deal, unless there’s a rare chance that a super gifted kid is attending that school.
For most of what I remember to be my middle school life, I tried my best not to become involved with any of the gossip and drama in the various networks of my class. Rarely did I ever engage in group conversations or even one-to-one conversations for that matter. In fact, any type and degree of social interaction seemed exhausting to me. Therefore, I usually stood away from the general population and kept to myself.
