Europe
It is an exciting thought to have been able to travel to different places throughout your lifetime. One country that has always sounded like an interesting vacation spot to me is Europe. The most commonly visited places in Europe are Paris, London, and Rome. The one place that stands out to me the most is Paris, France. Not only have I heard wonderful reviews about France, but I have also heard real life experiences of a group of students who went to my high school that visited Europe. The three best features of France, from what I can understand, would be the fantastic food, the soothing music and the information packed cultural facts. The food in Paris, France is said to be the best food in the world, according to the many stories I have heard from my former classmates. One restaurant that stands out to me the most is “Frenchies”. This great restaurant only has 26 seats in the dinning room, so it is very difficult to receive reservations. The

The values of the French have a lot to do with the government. The French have great pride in their nation and government. They find it very offensive when their country is negatively commented about. Tourist might misinterpret their attitudes as rude. According to De Rossi,”From around the 16th century, in Europe, culture became a term for the cultivation of the mind, the intellect, knowledge, acceptable ways of behaving.” The French embrace style and sophistication and take pride in the fact that even their public spaces strike a regal tone. The French celebrate Christmas and Easter. They also celebrate Labor Day on May 1st. The religion that is commonly followed in France is catholicism. In a survey by the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP),”64 percent of the population (about 41.6 million people) identified themselves as Roman Catholic.” According to a 2010 survey by the Pew Research Center, “7.5 percent (4.7 million people) are

The development of Europe and Western Culture are highlighted by five key dates. The main four key dates and there are as follows:
Covering such a vast area and population dispersion, France is home to several different religions. The majority of people in France practice mainly Roman Catholicism. Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim religions fall into the minority with around ten to fourteen percent of the entire population practicing these religions. Each religion has its own set of rules, beliefs, and bylaws with only a few overlapping ideas, this is what causes a culture to be so diverse and ultimately making other cultures differ from one another.
They also take the time to prepare the food, and then sit down and eat it socially. As a result of meals being “events” or “celebrations”, they eat slower and enjoy their food. In America, people often eat on-the-go (in their car, while walking, etc.) so food is consumed quickly which makes it easier to overeat. Therefore, the French eat less food in a longer period of time, which allows them to take pleasure in their meal. Another French custom is to always eat at the same time of day, which limits the amount of control a person has on when they eat - this is controlled by the

Many inventors and inventions affected the world politically, economically, and socially. Scientific advances, navigational advances, and technological advances affected the world in many ways. These inventions were especially useful for European nations in battles, in exploration, and in imperialism. The characteristics of European imperialism affected many countries in the world and changed history. Also, European imperialism had a huge effect on Asian and African nations in many ways. They took over many countries, enslaved people, and imperialized.
He trained in his Uncle François’ restaurant, Le Restaurant François in Nice. Here he learned the basics of French cuisine and tried to take in as much knowledge as he could as an adolescent. Restaurant François attracted the very wealthy from near and far, “rich invalids and they brought friends.” A particular group of Russian naval officers often wintered in the Villenfranche harbor and dined at the restaurant (James 4). Chef François preferred to serve the food that would best relate to his customers. For example, whenever the Russian officers dined, he tried to incorporate an aspect of Russian cuisine into the menu (James 5). This principle of catering to the customer became very prominent in Escoffier’s
France and America are both allies of one another, and both beautiful countries that most people want to visit and mark off their bucket list; from the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, National Parks, and French cuisine, no wonder people want to visit, when comparing France and America, it seems as only a few select things are all they have in common; the two don’t have much alike and are vastly different. France is more individualistic while America is more influenced and pressured by society. The two also differ in fashion, food, romance, and more, but this all leads to the intriguing and differing experience it has for its people.
Ask yourself “if I could take a trip ANYWHERE where would I go” well, I asked myself the same question where would I go? Here is my answer, I would go to the Bahamas because I think that I need to try something new. I think that if I went to the Bahamas then i would try everything because i am very deprived as in i don’t take advantage of the things i could be doing.
French culture and society has evolved from many different aspects of French life. From the mastery of French cuisine to the meaning of French art, the French have changed and evolved in many ways to produce a specific modern culture, the dignified culture of the French. One thing that parallels the progress and continuation of French culture is the role of women throughout France. Compared to other nations, the role and rights of women in France were confronted earlier and Women’s suffrage was enacted earlier. The role of women in France, because of the early change in perception of women, enabled France to develop faster and with less conflict than other competing nations.
The French are all about preserving their culture and being individualized. They often take great pride in the French products and the French style, and believe in keeping the French culture “pure” so they also limit the amount of foreign goods that are being imported. But during the World Wars the French began to allow foreigners to immigrate into France to take jobs due to an increase in job shortages. The immigration from the World Wars added to the diversity of the French culture. Ever since the 1850’s there has been a steady flow of immigration into France, and now nine percent of the French population is made up of immigrants (Gofen 62). The break down of the cultures in France is eighty-five percent of the French population is Roman Catholic, eight percent Muslim, two percent Protestants, and one percent Jewish. From 1801-1905, Roman Catholicism was the man religion in France and bishops and priests were being paid by the government to be state officials. But this was broken in 1905 (“France” 460). The current debate in France is the banning of religious symbols in public school systems. An example of a religious symbol being banned is headscarves. Headscarves have been banned since 2004, but the French do not allow ANY religious symbols in public school systems (“In Knots”) France should not continue to ban the wearing of religious symbols in public school systems because since the World Wars France began to allow foreigners to immigrate into France, in the United States there are no laws restricting the wearing of religious symbols, and important French figures have had foreign parents.
In conclusion, Spain is the place to be during vacations and group trips. This is because of the very many beautiful types of scenery and most of all the beaches, which will help you relax your mind away from work and all the stress. Spain has good wines and it will be very memorable visiting the wineries and tasting the wines in order to know which the best brand of wine is.
In the 1930s and 40s Europeans experienced violence and disorder on an unprecedented scale. Although Europe had seen mass social, political, economic, and cultural changes in the past, as with the Enlightenment, the revolutions of the 1860s and 1870s, even going as far back as the Renaissance, never before had Europe experienced such a massive shift in social structure and power dynamics as what resulted from World War II. The destruction of towns and cultural centers, the relocation of groups rigidly defined by ethnicity or nationality, and the reversal of power dynamics and the effect on nationalism changed the way the European defined their identity as a European. The European identity split according to the two postwar experiences of civilians
One of my greatest hobbies is travelling the globe and I love to see new places. I enjoy experiencing new environment and culture. There are many countries to visit around the world and each country has something unique to offer. In every country, there are many beautiful places to see and tradition to learn. It is my dream to visit Italy with my family one day.
