Bernie Sanders is running for President of the United States of America as a democratic candidate. His competition for the primary elections is Hillary Clinton, a well-known politician with plenty of experience under her belt. Bernie is running as a non-traditional candidate, which is a main factor of why his campaign is extremely successful and popular with the American people. A recent political ad released by Sander’s campaign team called “Real Change” emphasizes his family values and dedication to the working class, fighting for the votes of the average American. The ad implies Bernie is the right man for the job due to his long history of experience and commitment to the issues he believes in. This political ad illustrates how Bernie
It is very common among the United States’ political sphere to rely heavily on T.V. commercials during election season; this is after all the most effective way to spread a message to millions of voters in order to gain their support. The presidential election of 2008 was not the exception; candidates and interest groups spent 2.6 billion dollars on advertising that year from which 2 billion were used exclusively for broadcast television (Seelye 2008.) Although the effectiveness of these advertisements is relatively small compared to the money spent on them (Liasson 2012), it is important for American voters to think critically about the information and arguments presented by these ads. An analysis of the rhetoric in four of the political campaign commercials of the 2008 presidential election reveals the different informal fallacies utilized to gain support for one of the candidates or misguide the public about the opposing candidate.
Have you seen any of the recent campaign advertisements that have been published by the 2016 presidential candidates? Presidential candidates are known for campaigning through different media outlets, such as television advertisements, social media, and their party rallies. In these advertisements, the candidates bash their opponents and try to show you why you should vote for them, and why you should not vote for their opponent. Hillary Clinton’s advertisements have really stood out to me and have been able to grab my attention. Particularly the “Role Models” video, which displays young children watching Donald Trump make discriminatory and offensive comments on the television screen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign advertisement effectively gets
On May 26, 2015, Bernie Sanders announced his candidacy for president of the United States of America. During a time of political corruption, economic inequality, and social unrest, the American people hope to elect a president that will fix the country’s issues and improve upon the current state of the nation. Primary elections will occur within the coming months, and the general election will take place soon after, so candidates, Sanders included, have begun to campaign. By utilizing the rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos; emphasizing his most important points through his word choice, voice, and body gestures; and establishing himself and American citizens as equal, Bernie Sanders explains in his speech his plans and hopes for America and strives to gain popularity and votes from
Presidency is a very complex and competitive process, that’s why producers need to be innovative while creating campaign advertisements. In the advertisement “Family Strong” for Hillary Clinton, the producer uses sympathy and visuals to gain voter’s respect by reaching out to viewers heartstrings and talking about what everyone loves most, family. With family in mind, the ad is supposed to show viewers across America that if anyone should be President of the United States, it should be someone with strong values, family oriented, and very humble. This was a brilliant way to convey the American people to vote for her this november. The main focus with this particular advertisement is to gain credibility through all of Hillary’s
Ted Cruz is a Republican politician. Cruz is a very conservative politician who went to Harvard University to become a lawyer before going into politics. In the year 2000, Cruz “served as an advisor on the 2000 presidential campaign of George W. Bush” (Mead). In 2013, Cruz became the senator of Texas and is currently running for president. “Cruz has become better known for his speeches and tactics than for creating legislation.” Cruz delivered a 21 hour long speech of his opposition on Obamas healthcare to cut funding and which encouraged the government shutdown of 2013. Cruz is also very religious and has clearly stated his beliefs. One of those beliefs is that “marriage should be between a man and a woman” (Mead). Clearly Cruz goes against
Bernard “Bernie” Sanders, is one of the best candidates for this years 2016 presidential election. He is the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He has demonstrated his passion towards an equal and stabilized country. Sanders is a man who believes in a country that is equal and all voices should be heard. Socioeconomic issues are to be heard of by all people because these issues are what make the people and the country. His propositions to a better socioeconomic country will better the relationships we have with one another. Voting for Bernie Sanders, means voting for a country that will be equal to all the people living here. A country deserves to be united by all the people living here regardless of race. We are all human, we all deserve

In the midst of one of the most controversial presidential elections in history, both political parties are struggling to prove that their candidate is the best choice. Clinton and Trump’s disapproval ratings are very low, but one has to ask, is there really a lesser evil to choose from? While Clinton has had her own fair share of past discrepancies, Trump’s track record proves much more troublesome. Donald Trump has proven to be an untrustworthy presidential candidate because of his misogynistic actions, his racial bias, and his corrupt business history.
Who do you believe should be the winner for the 2016 presidential election? Is Donald Trump the next Adolf Hitler? Ignore the second question, everybody knows the answer is yes. I know that Bernie Sanders is the best option for president for many reasons that I’m about to state and explain. According to my research on Bernie Sanders, he promotes to make America better in many ways. He has plans to recover child poverty rate, make collage debate free, gain wealth with policy and restore democracy, create fair-paying jobs, racial justice, fight for women’s rights, give medicare to all, ect. I am about to define many of his ideas.
One of the reasons Bernie Sanders should be president is because he is the most honest candidate in the presidential election 2016. Most of the people who have become supporters of Bernie Sanders have realized how he has shown himself willing to protect and serve this country rather than ruling. Every other candidate in the election has willingly shown how to twist, lie, and find the right position in order to get nominations. Throughout the election Bernie has been more concerned with his own political beliefs than the publics appreciations. The possible candidate has been faced to answer questions on several important issues, Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton have thrown shade and disrespect towards the other in order to make their election
Bernie Sanders, current candidate for the President of the United States, Democratic party affiliation, believes that all students deserve the opportunity to receive an affordable, quality education from the earliest stages of schooling to high-level degrees. He has sponsored bills to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, as well as to drastically reduce interest rates on student loan debt.
My candidate is age 27 with a family background of having to work hard to get what you want instead of it being given to you. My candidate worked for a respected and honorably recognized business. My candidates name is Peter L. Schlosser who has been slowly gaining respect from people around him to run for president.
The main focus of the advertisement was the text. The text was very easy to notice with a background that appeared to be a hand-painted city of many colors. The city seemed to be something much like what one would see on a cartoon. In large, white print painted over the colorful city were the words A Voice for Working Families. By using this text the Democratic party was using honorific language (pathos). The colorful background could be interpreted as pathos by appealing to the audience visually. The text was being used as a tool to relate and speak to primarily middle Americans also known as the blue collars of society. With this text Al Gore was saying without speaking, he could relate on their level and he was willing to be their voice in government. Al Gore was using positive text by letting the Americans in the middle class know that he was taking their concerns seriously.
In Chapter One of “Theories and Methods in Political Science”, Sanders focuses on a central question of “why do people behave in the way they do?” In behavioral analysis, it is important to focus on observable behavior. Observable behavior is crucial because it centers in on why people do what they do, not what people think internally. Any explanation of this behavior is subject to empirical testing; meaning any actual experience is worth far more than a theory. Behaviorists have considered political participation (such as voting, protests, riots, and strikes), elite political behavior (a leaders view versus a leaders actions), collective behavior (special interest groups), and international relations (state actions).1 All these groups have specific experiences linked to them, making it easier to analyze the behavior. For example, behaviorists may look at the voting patterns among young adults across the country. By doing so, they will have a better representative statistic than a theory could have. Regarding elite political behavior, one may chose to look at what a leader stands for. Analyzing a President would start before they take office: seeing what the person says before they’re elected, and conclude at the end of a President’s term. What a behaviorist may notice is that the words did not match the actions. In the reading “Anarchy Is What States Make of It: The Social Construction of Power Politics”, the author states: “Actors do not have a "portfolio" of interests that they carry around independent of social context; instead, they define their interests in the process of defining situation.”2 What this means to me is that a leader doesn’t have a list of specific things they want to do or are going to do…instead, they mak...
