Berlin, Germany 's capital, is one of the world 's most famous metropolises and most popular tourist attractions. The current population is nearly 3.4 million. Berlin is Germany 's leading industrial city, and the main industrial sectors are electronics, machinery manufacturing, chemicals, printing, textile and food processing. Berlin is an international transport hub. Hamburg, Germany 's largest port city, is Germany 's second largest city. Hamburg has a population of about 1.9 million. Hamburg is one of the world 's largest trading centers and a distribution center for nearly 3000 foreign companies, including many industrial enterprises directly engaged in import and export business. Hamburg is Germany 's third largest tourist city.
Munich is Germany 's third largest city, and it has a population of about 1.3 million. It is a well-know German tourist destination with more than 800 years of history. Munich is known for beer, so people usually refer to Munich as the beer capital.

Level of urbanization
Germany has a social market economy with a highly skilled labor force, a large capital stock, a low level of corruption, and a high level of innovation. It has the largest and most powerful national economy in Europe, the fourth largest by nominal GDP in the world, the fifth largest by PPP, and it was the biggest net contributor to the EU budget in 2011. The service sector contributes approximately 71% of the total GDP, industry 28%, and agriculture 1%. The official average national unemployment rate in April 2014 was 6.8%. Health issues
As of 2014, the main cause of death in Germany was disturbed blood flow through cardiovascular muscle. Cardiovascular disease accounts for about half of all deaths in Germany, and the leading causes after disturbed blood flow are acute cardiac infarction and cardiac insufficiency. This can be attributed to the poor dietary habits of most Germans. German diets are high in fat and carbohydrates and low in fruits and vegetables, and Germans also consume high amounts of alcohol and tobacco. Lung cancer, pulmonary disease, dementia, and stroke are also leading causes of death among Germans.
