Benefits of Wildlife Sactuaries
Educating oneself about wildlife can be done without even leaving the living room and is as easy to access with the resources we use for entertainment and politics. Even though a great deal of knowledge may be acquired by the astonishing information, and captivating images, wildlife succeeds in inspiring and wooing its viewers, however the lack of physical contact will always be subtracted from the experience. Zoos and aquariums offer fun, physical, educational, and personal exploration that only these facilities can offer. Zoos and aquariums cultivate an appreciation and fascination for exotic animals by bringing awareness of the problems affecting wildlife such as poaching and loss of habitat. These facilities provide homes for injured animals, rehabilitation of the injured animals, investment of time and effort into establishing breeding programs for endangered species, and offers opportunities for children by exposing them to different jobs and careers in wildlife conservation while publicizing the importance as well as contributions zoos and aquariums offer .
To begin with, Zoos and aquariums alike provide a safe haven for animals who fell prey to an unsuccessful poach or have had their habitat destroyed due to human development. It is said that “65 decimated species hang on in zoos and research facilities” (Arrandale). Animals from across the globe are traded amongst licensed zoologist in hopes that the organism that is passed on can be kept in the required climates and receive the necessary care and medical treatment that may or may not be available in the countries it once came from. In conclusion, wildlife sanctuaries such as zoos and aquariums offer far more than just astonishing sights, they offer an escape from television and grant various opportunities to watch and interact with the wonders of the world. Only through continuous and vigorous efforts will wildlife sanctuaries and science center alike accomplishes their goal in extinguishing the dangers the animals which reside within them face.
