The Benefits of Renewable Energy Resources

1838 Words4 Pages

"When it comes to renewable energy, there's no reason America should settle for second best" (Martin Heinrich). The United States is to do what is best for the country and should never settle for second best because second best will eventually become more costly than the first best. Solar power, hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, and biomass power are all renewable energy resources. They come from resources that are naturally replenished from sunlight, wind, rain, and plant waste and are used for generating electricity. Using renewable resources for electricity has been used for many years and year after year is becoming more advanced and beneficial for the United States. Solar power means power that is obtained by harnessing the energy of the sun's rays. Hydroelectric power or hydropower is relating to or denoting the generation of electricity using flowing water (typically from a reservoir held behind a dam or other barrier) to drive a turbine that powers a generator. Nuclear energy is when the energy is being released during nuclear fission or fusion, especially when used to generate electricity. Biofuel is a fuel derived directly from living matter. Wind power is when power is obtained by harnessing the energy of the wind creating or generating electricity. The United States is always looking for ways to improve the economy and the environment for society today and the future generations to thrive.Solar power, hydropower, wind power, biomass power, and nuclear power are electrical's best renewable resources for environmental and economical purposes.
