Immediate Positive thinking The benefits of positive thinking We all need more positivity in our lives, otherwise, we wouldn 't be able to sustain ourselves mentally. Positivity is a platform to hope, a warm greeting or even a smile. It enlightens your day in ways you can’t possibly explain. Judge for yourself through the following example. Imagine someone negative coming across people the whole day and having to go to work like this person always does every day. Now, the fact that he/she is negative is going to cut him/her completely to what he/she is normally supposed to do. This means that he will probably not return someone 's greeting or notice the time passing by. In other words, he/she is going to be distracted by a negative thought. On the other hand, when you have a positive attitude you know more or less how to get back to reality and carry on with your day. This is what you can expect with more positivity: -You’ll be able to give hope. Like said earlier, when you replace fear and negativity with positive thoughts or resolutions, …show more content…
By that, we mean, something that takes all your focus and not in a good way, for instance, a job deadline, a teenager that likes to party too much, a difficult life partner, etc. -Next, take a moment and freeze everything. This is when you are supposed to mark a pause on what is bothering you, at that moment (it could be the thought itself, a scene that bothered you, etc.). Visualize it (scene, words, etc.). -Now, let the positive platform come in. Repeat 3 times: It’s okay, there’s always a better alternative. Did I cause this? If yes, how can I make it better? - Start to pronounce these three sentences (it’s okay, there’s always a better alternative. Did I cause this? If yes, how can I make it better?), by breathing
Award-winning author Mandy Hale once stated, “Without negativity, life would be amazing.” However, this statement does not always prove to be true. Today’s modern community generates a judgement that negative experiences will ruin your life, but studies show that negativity can actually result in positive change. For example, negativity can positively change teenagers actions, introduce teenager’s to more supportive environments, and help fix broken relationships.
In the chapter “ The Upside of Dreaming” from her book Rethinking Positive Thinking, Gabriele Oettingen explains how positive fantasies are beneficial. Oettingen started out with a story of a college graduate. The college graduate Rachael was dealing with a heartbroken experience with seeing her boyfriend going to jail for selling drugs. Rachael felt as if she had a stay by her boyfriend’s side. She dreamt that the judge or the prosecutor was saying something bad about her boyfriend, Tim and giving him a lot of time in jail. Rachel wanted to defend him, but she knew couldn’t help him.Tim finally went to jail.
The importance dispositional optimism as a facilitator of well-being, positive health, flourishing, and quality of life has been documented in the positive psychology literature. Dispositional optimism evaluated by the LOT-R is a positive personality trait characterized by favorable personal future expectation (Scheier et al., 1994). It has been emphasized that optimism is a malleable personality trait and that pessimists can become optimists by utilizing techniques such as positive psychology interventions (Carver et al., 2009; Seligman, 2011). In contrast to traditional psychological interventions, positive psychology interventions have a strong focus on cultivating positive personality traits including dispositional optimism.
Award-winning best-selling author Mandy Hale once stated, “Without negativity, life would be amazing.” But this statement is incorrect. Many people believe that avoiding negative people can help bring you a positive life, but that isn’t always the case. Studies show that negativity can actually help people in some ways. For example, negativity can actually change people for the better, break poor society standards, and cause broken relationships to be fixed.
Lino (2017) clearly gave the definition of positive psychology and explained how it overall explained how it can impact our lives. Positive Psychology is important in the sense of how many time it has been seen that successful people have issues because of the lack of positive influence in their lives and that seeing ourselves in a positive way can help prevent or cure many mental illnesses like depression or anxiety. The basic idea of Positive Psychology is that this moment is better than the last and the next will be better than this one. There is a constant reminder that the past is in the past focus on being positive in the future instead of in the past.
I was surprised to read that being negative can be harmful to your health and might even shorten your life. This means positive emotions are necessary daily requirements to have a long healthy life. I think that this statement reminds me to be positive in my life. For example, negative emotions can lead to serious problems like stress, anger, hostility of the mind and body. I can relate to this because when I have negative feelings like when I strike out in a baseball game it affects my whole game after that. And when one person gets angry and one negative emotion can change the whole game for the team. However, when I stay positive in a game by patting teammates on the back, saying what good plays they did in the game, and rooting on the batter up and even the pitcher on the mound, it keeps our team in a good mood. And being in a good mood and pumped up is the best situation to be in, in a game. If someone gets upset, as a leader it is my job to get him back in a good mood. One positive emotion can change the whole game for the team. This goes back to filling people's
All of our emotions play a big role in our lives. Even though it does not feel like it at the moment, negative feelings can be a good thing. If we never become sad, angry, or scared we would not be able to appreciate the true value of happiness, we would only focus on ourselves and happiness, and we would become less alert to threats and dangerous situations around us.
This Workshop will teach your students, or staff how to cultivate positivity by teaching techniques how to overcome a bad day, and how maintain good days.
Every time my parents read to me, I tried to say the words along with them. As a result, anytime I had problems pronouncing a word, my mother made me sound the word out until I sounded it correctly. She told me to take each word, syllable by syllable.
There are times I have even caught myself in the act of “coaching” myself into a more positive mindset. Inner self statements such as, “I can do this” or “this is not the first time I’ve ever felt this way and I survived.” These inner pep talks have helped me overcome issues of my own simply by willing myself to believe I can. Much the same way as William James, I tell myself I will be able to do this as long as I take it one step at a time and stay positive. The moment I allow negativity into my thought process all I have gained would be in
According to other participants who are high on defensive pessimism, thinking more negatively is a good motivation for them to take necessary actions. Also, one participant added: “If you’re negative you stress more, and a bit of stress is good.” Hence, it is deemed that this kind of pessimism encourages the individual to move forward. It can be used as a tool to fulfil their performance needs.

Positivity: the state of which showing positive feeling or intentions towards somebody. Does positivity impact our lives in a positive or negative manner? Would it make society more happy sad?. I think that positivity could impact our daily lives for the better. I assume that positivity has two different parts to it, one being that it could make us a better person or human being, and the other being that we use it in a incorrect way or manner. Being nice to someone means that we are showing positivity towards that person. The more positive we become, the more the positivity spreads and the more people we influence, then society will change for the better. In order to building and
A benefit for being pessimistic would be to think the worst and receive the best of something, whether it be a job, goals, or getting a good test grade back on a test that the person was not so sure about and continuously had the thought of failing. Being a pessimist you already have the pitfall of having negative thoughts. It is not always a bad thing to have the mind prepared for the failures life can Pessimists are like walking to the finish line, meanwhile, optimists are running with it because they are so eager to get to where they will go in life. I am proud to be a pessimistic person because I will be prepared for any tough or easy setting in my life.
I believe in positive thinking because it is like a small plant which can grow huge with the help of some fertilizer and regular care. Similarly, the more I use positive thinking, the better I will be at it, and the more it will grow. I am not saying that it is easy to think positively all the time, but I believe that most of my thoughts and ideas should reflect happiness and positivity. To obtain happiness one needs to learn to be optimistic in even the most difficult situations. Positive thinking helps me find a way in tough situations.
