Before I registered for Teaching Technology in The Classroom, I had the idea that technology was a simple skill to integrate in the classrooms. I just thought that teaching technology would be simple and fun for the students. I used to think that student already know a lot of technology, therefore it would be as simple subject to integrate in the classrooms. In fact,
I used to question the integration of computers in the preschool classrooms. After completing this course, I have learned so much about the benefits of integrating technology as a teaching tool. I am confident to teach technology skills, and to use technology as a tool to help my students become cyber safe and technology skilled. I believe learning technology should be fun, and at the same time rewarding. Because through this course have learned, that there is more about teaching basic technology skills. I have learned that technology can be the best teaching tool. Technology have changed the way teachers are now accountable to teach, and the way students are learning. During this course I have learned key implications of new

Students nowadays, are so focus on technology and how they can put their hands in technology. As a future teacher I believe that, the best way to capture my student’s attention is by providing them with tools that can motivate them to learn. With the use of technology, I may approach teaching differently by encouraging my students to use on-line resources. Using on-line resources, would be beneficial for the students, because they would be able to explore many on-line resources. The students would be encouraged to use the on-line materials, I as a teacher would encourage them to use. Such as Internet Workshops and WeQuests. As a future teacher I would want to use Internet workshops and WebQuests, because I would want to increase my student’s motivation to
“Technology has provided the opportunity to create an entirely new learning environment; it has significantly increased the range and sophistication of possible classroom activities” (Hawkins 1997). The vast majority of youths today, grow up with computers and encounter some form of digital learning (Kolikant, 2009). The idea that has had the most impact is that the technology today will be outpaced by the next generation. Most of the technology seen today will never be used by an infant when he reaches school age.
... challenges the relationship between students and teachers, because technology enables learners to gain control of their own learning. The new technology provides access to information that was once under the control of teachers.
These experiences have led me to develop some goals when it comes to using technology in the classroom and my own growth as an educator. I believe technology is something that is necessary in today's world in order to collaborate, manipulate, research, debate, explain, and present ideas. I believe students are ready to use ...
Within technology comes the gateway to almost everything that is out in the internet, it opens a whole new world to the students and the teachers that use them. The outcome of the uses, if they happen to be good or bad, come from the restrictions and the management of usage of said technology inside a classroom. Educators see firsthand how the used in their daily lives influence how a student learns. Thanks to technology not only has students and teachers changed the ways they learn and teach, learning itself has changed as well. It is not only crucial to have the technological tools needed in a classroom, but also an educator that can mend and mold the technology to their rightful use. The use of technology in a classroom not only expands the tools and gadgets, not to mention adds much needed knowledge that will help students later on in life, but also brings a whole new and better way to teach and learn.
Every effort is being made in implementing technology in the classroom. The traditional way of teaching should be that of the pass. Technology has evolved in such a way that a new learning environment should be implemented or at least attempted to encourage students develop the necessary skills to be more confident in their learning environment. By creating a more active learning environment that students are allowed to collaborate with peers only enhances their critical thinking skills. “The participation required when children are grouped around a computer, as opposed to working in isolation at individual computers, can have a positiv...
The new ICT programs with technology have altered curriculum and have taken a different look at education. According to many authors, including Solar, “Teachers design, implement, and assess learning experiences to engage students, improve learning, enrich professional practice and provide positive models for students” (Solar et al. 212). Studies have shown that ICT devices make the lesson easier for the teachers to teach (Yunus et al. 124). Moreover, teachers need to stay up-to-date with the expectations and guidelines of technology, which is maintained through conferences, classes and meetings. CBC News broadcasts, “If they expand the role of technology in the classroom, teachers need to learn how to appropriately employ it...the key to all this is teacher support and professional development” (“Technology in the classroom…”). Professional development is a critical part of ICT in the teacher’s career; it should be ongoing and well planned to be effective and sustainable (Alemu). Likewise, technology is a part of the daily class lessons, which teachers need to meet, with the expectations of ICT. It has become more of a challenge to incorporate technology into the classroom, but it is a positive instrument for the students to learn how to operate technology in order to prepare them for their future careers (Niemeyer). Teachers encompass technology with five basic
Technology and education change at a lightning pace. Daily, there are new or revised tools, resources, curricula, and more that merge the two into one and seek to be the next best thing. As the technology changes, the one constant needs to be strong pedagogy and practices rooted in good teaching. Theories of learning have been around for decades. Educators must constantly reexamine their philosophies on teaching as well as what learning theories ground their practice. Those theories will ultimately be the compass that directs them into how they teach and integrate technology into their practice. The goal of the following paper is to examine my teaching beliefs and philosophies as related to educational technology. The constructivist
Being able to incorporate technology into the daily lesson plans offers the teacher an endless possibility of communicating the subject through multiple modalities. Technology within the classroom can be seen through proximas, ELMO’s, DVD’s and websites that are incorporated to teach the students. Educators should be open to learning and incorporating the many opportunities technology brings to the classroom. Although technology has areas of strength and weaknesses, if learned and implemented creatively and efficiently students learning will be impacted greatly.
With the rapid growth of technology in America’s society today, the use of computers in school classrooms has increased tremendously—an action that certainly has become beneficial to students, educators, and parents. The use of computers has positively skyrocketed over the past ten years. Not only are computers utilized daily in large companies across the world, but the everyday use in classrooms has also become prevalent. Using modern technology to assist school instructors with his or her daily lessons should definitely be regarded as a positive, acceptable method of instruction and not definitely does not prohibit students from understanding or critical thinking.
My personal goal as a teacher is to challenge my students so that they find learning interesting and stimulating. I believe that technology is a very useful tool to capture students? interest. Video games, computers, and television consume the world that in which my students live. Corporations use this fact to market their products to young people. So, I plan to use the same fact to ?market? education. There are many valuable, interactive-learning activities available for use in the classroom. I think the use of them can greatly enhance the learning process. I want to make learning meaningful and worthwhile to all of my students.
Technology enables students and teachers to have a fast and easy way to acquire unlimited access to tons of information. With all of the useful technologies, the curriculum is bound to change in endless ways, creating more opportunity for learning.
Schools need to incorporate technology education into all areas of curriculum. Students need to be able to understand not only the how-to of computers, but they need to understand when to use it, where to use it, and why it should be used. Many students only have a basic working knowledge of computer...
In less than a decade, computer use progressed from programming classes for a few of the better students, to literacy classes for all students, to the integration of computers and technology into the curriculum. Now, there is a goal for educators to use technology as a tool in efforts to teach more effectively by using a variety of strategies to meet different needs in a diverse classroom. This will take training and commitment to keep up in an area that changes quickly, but the benefits to teachers and students are greater that the effort it will take to stay informed; computers increase productivity of students and make learning a fun experience. They help students become better problem-solvers instead of just rote learners.
The introduction of technology into education has revolutionized the teaching quality and learning outcome in the last ten years. The integration of technology into lectures by teachers in classroom has become so natural that both teachers and learners consider computers and their related applications for instruction are “a routine component of the classroom and educational processes in general” (Nuldén, 1999 cited in Buzzard et al., 2011, pp.131-139).
Computer technology is one the most innovative advancements in modern-day education. Technology has made its way into the world of teaching practice and principle by expanding the way we approach instruction in the classroom. We are no longer confined to pencil and paper, but have the ability to project and present knowledge in an enhanced way to capture the minds of a generation of students whose society is built around ever expanding world of computer technology.
