Living healthy always starts in your home, and why not let it start by eating healthier foods. However, eating healthy doesn’t simply include avoiding fast foods or products with high sugars, instead eating healthy includes the types of fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk and meats eaten at home. Simply buying more vegetables and fruits is not enough anymore. Today, many of our local markets sell produce that is covered in trans fats, high calories, preservatives, and grown using toxic pesticides that can potentially harm the body. Not only do local markets tend to disguise their produce in what they call “a healthy option” but often rip people off for their efforts to attain a healthy diet. Luckily, we live in the U.S.A where it is an individual’s choice to pick where he/she prefers to shop. ... to the farmers market was a unique experience. Like I previously mentioned, I could not seem to find any junk food anywhere. I tried looking for a soda, but of course it was useless because they did not sell it there, In fact, I don’t recall seeing any water for sale either. Additionally, it was very weird shopping in an open-air market. I was a bit cold and felt strange to have grass running through my feet as I walked along the market. I would say it was a very positive experience and made me want to go back some day. The fruits and vegetables there seemed very fresh and appealing. They had a distinct taste to which I was nt used to but it was a good taste though. Personally, I purchased all my food in cash, the market was crowded and people were yelling out prices. There seemed to be no real line to pay but other than that, my experience at the market was great.
