When people are looking for employment, they look for jobs that offer benefits and flexibility among other compensations. Employers lure job seekers with benefits and compensations to make sure that they stay with the company for the long run. Most of the time, employers are looking for people who want to stay long-term rather than short-term. When employers hire, they tend to compensate that person for their good job within the year with a bonus. Also, other compensations allow the employee to love their job and makes them want to stay. For example, depending on the employer, employees can receive paid time off to volunteer at community events. Managers are trying to find ways to value their employers and make them feel that they have a way to move up in the company. Having the opportunity for growth and development is a key to motivate employees. A new hire enters their job with enthusiasm but if managers fail to motivate their employees, employees can lose their drive. Managers face the downfall of having challenges when motivating employees today compared to 50 years ago.

Managers must think of new ways to motivate their employees due to these new challenges. Employees are motivated primarily by money, performing well, making a contribution to society, and being given the challenge to solve complex problems. Since everyone has different characteristics and are diverse, how can managers satisfy and motivate all employers? The business atmosphere is changing and managers are having to adjust their strategies to motivate their employees. A company seminar or meeting can be used to educate employers about using their stress for positivity in the work place. Eustress is a positive reaction to stress that is used to overcome a challenge.

Overall, managers have to deal with challenges every day, and they must overcome them. Managers need to be the leaders in the work environment to lead a group of employers to accomplish goals. Managers are the teacher in the work place. They must learn how to teach their employers how to cope with their personal lives and change it into positive energy to put into the work environment. Managers, also, must be willing to change their motivation styles to adjust to the diversity in the work place.
