this task, in preparing for writing this essay, we saw a video about being a professional educator by Harry and we were asked to make a connection to proposition 2 and dispositions. During that time I was taking notes about things I thought it would be helpful to complete this essay. Harry’s video is very inspirational for me. Although my knowledge of being a good teacher, but I felt that this is the first time I learn about professional educators. Through my watching this video I have learned many things about being an effective teachers. I learned that in order to guarantee efficient learning for my students, I need to be an effective teacher. Effective teachers who practice their teaching not just give it to their students. That helped me a lot understanding what Harry talk about and I have make connection between Harry’s video and what I am learning now in my Assessment Class. I knew that teachers action reflect on their students learning and then their success. I have learned that Wichita has a Megnant school which is the perfect high school to be attended. My teacher Brian Had explained to us why that school considers a perfect school in Wichita. The reason is that it has all the good teachers. So, hearing from Harry about effective teacher reminds me of this school in Wichita. Also, I was know that nice teachers are loved and students like them and that what I do. But they also should be effective and this helped me understand Harry’s feeling about Lora. [ Harry’s example of a nice teacher but not effective]. I knew that teachers should to leave an impact in their students, which my high school teachers did. When harry was talking about Lora I was shaking my head because I felt the same way he did regarding to Lora’s situation. She was nice but not effective. Our children, our students, need effective teachers to success in their whole life. I remember my first grade teacher Nabeha. She was very strict teacher, but very effective teacher. She is exactly the opposite of Lora. Lora was nice but not effective, Nabeha was strict but effective. She is the person who I owe my success for beside my parents. She is the reason I was superior in all my school stages. My parents also the two angels that I am who I am because of them. When Harry talked about the two people that were the reason of being who he is, I directly remembered my teacher who affect my learning and my parents who affected my life. My teacher Nabeha and my parents were the reason I acquire much of my thinking, characteristic from and still is my
The second principle is on Professional Relationship with students, as educator we are always to professional at all times whether we are in or out of the classroom. Moreover, parents trust us to be a safe haven for their children and to look after their children’s wellbeing while in a school setting. As part of this profess...

An outstanding educator possesses unique qualities that set him or her apart from others in the field. Ask any student about a favorite teacher and listen intently as he or she describes that person with a smile. Ask a parent of a child who will enter first grade in the fall about the teacher choice for their child. The parent would describe the outstanding educator in their desire for that special teacher. The qualities of an outstanding educator are easily recognized by those whose lives they touch, shape, and change on a daily basis. It is in this writing piece that they will be described and discussed.
The overall concept of disposition two outlines that the teacher understands how learning takes place. The students build knowledge, gain skills, and widen the habits of mind. In parallel, the teacher understands how to utilize instructional strategies that encourage student learning. The teacher also knows that students' domains, physical, social, emotional, moral, and cognitive development, impact learning and recognizes how to deal with these aspects when making instructional decisions. Finally, the teacher is knowledgeable of likely developmental advances and scopes of individual differences and can identify levels of readiness in learning, and knows how development in any one area may influence performance in others.
...roughout the session. “Good teachers are not born, nor are they made by tutors. They make themselves. Whats more, anyone can teach well. Research shows that there is no personality type that makes a good teacher. Whether you are a shy introvert or an enthusiastic extrovert, you can teach effectively, but only if you know how to learn from your mistakes and your successes”. (Petty 2009 pg.516 2009)
Over the years, teachers have realized that some students learn better when taught in different ways. A teachers task is to make sure that us students learn. All students want to do is have fun. There has to be a good balance between the two. Teachers have tried several ways to let us have fun and learn at the same time. Some ways teachers could make learning fun and more effective are doing group projects, having study groups, and making and doing review games.
Teachers help us expand and open our mind by giving us skills throughout students’ early life to help students when they are older. By learning information from teachers, students become better people, in a couple of ways. Besides inquiring knowledge from their teachers, students learn to work with one another, open their mind to other peoples’ thoughts and ideas, respect one another, and learn different techniques for life’s issues.
Education is an experience that without a doubt no one can avoid at least for a while. While this process should be positive sometimes it can seem more negative. People should not look back at their education and perceive it as a “bad” thing or a waste of time. Logically one would think that a person is entitled to their own opinion; however, the opinion of one’s education should never be portrayed as a negative one. Every teacher or educator, whether they realize it or not, has developed an educational philosophy probably starting at the time they became interested in the field of education. It is through this educational philosophy or goal that the classroom teacher prepares children for their future.
(9) Granted, these are very important aspects of school, but they are not the goal of education. My worst teacher played into the idea that one thing makes for a good student – a good grade. (8) I was taught in such a way that I was prepared for the test, did well, and have since forgotten the information. My favorite teacher, however, knew that students are smart in their own ways. Not everyone is good at every subject, but the knowledge lacking in that area is made up for in another. This teacher wanted to strengthen each student’s knowledge of the subject taught at hand to somewhat even the playing field in the world of education. I was pushed and made to think in order to truly grasp the concept of the subject I was studying. It was a harder class, but it was a class in which I have succeeded the most. This quality of education is what makes my favorite teacher the best that I have
An effective teacher will excite, inspire and motivate students to be active in their learning, investigate new areas of knowledge and make connections to future learning (Whitton et al 2010). When a teacher is successful, their students are motivated, mutually respectful and ready to build on their knowledge and solve real-world problems. To be a teacher of value, one must have many skills and qualities to cater for a diversity of learners and their individual development; this includes many personal traits that are noticed students.
Teachers serve as the guiding force in a student’s life. They are responsible for molding a student’s personality and shaping his/her mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in one’s life. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that, till a certain age, out life revolves around our teachers. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own.
There are many things which make a teacher great and they all can`t be defined. However i`ve always considered several of them essential. In my opinion a good teacher is someonewho first of all creates interest in studying, doesn`t underestimate the children, has equal expectations of siccess from everyone and last but not least likes his job.
Along these two weeks we have been prompt to make a recall to our own way of learning and why we became a teacher: Was it because coincidence, due to life circumstances, maybe because family tradition, was it a conscious decision or because someone influenced us? Whatever the answer is, we have to face reality and be conscious that being a teacher does not only means to teach a lesson and asses students learning. It requires playing the different roles a teacher must perform whenever is needed and required by our learners, identify our pupils needs and preferences, respecting their integrity and individuality but influencing and motivating them to improve themselves and become independent.
...sionate professors who helped shape the type of teacher I would like to be. They found ways to talk to me in a manner that motivated me to want to improve, all while honoring the work that I have already done. I would like to bring this same moral into my classroom, when a child is motivated, passionate, and self-aware of their needs, strengths, and weaknesses, they can and will push themselves to improve. Students do not solely care about how much knowledge an educator has, but they care about how much these educators truly care. We shouldn't judge a person on how educated they are based only on test scores. The most educated person may not be the most suitable person to teach children. I may lack the test scores, however, I do not lack the passion and motivation needed to be a great teacher. If we cannot celebrate small successes, the final outcome is less weighted.
A good teacher is one that motivates the students to always keep trying and do their best. However, an ethical and virtuous teacher is one who changes a student’s life forever and shapes their character into becoming a successful and respectful human being. Teachers have an important part in our lives and they impact us every day. Not only do they teach us something new each passing day, they also give us lessons that we will use in every decision we make in our lives. Luckily, I was able to have a teacher who pushed me beyond all my limits and always believed in me. That marvelous teacher was my fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Alvarado.
