Being a college student is not easy. One of the best things about being a student is, being able to build a relationship with the faculty and staff. The faculties at any college, university or even institution are important. There are times when a faculty can be competitive because they want their school to be the very best. Without faculty who work in these higher education schools, these places would run itself. That means the school shuts down and the students leave. The faculty and students are what shape our schools. However, there are some problems that students have with their faculty and that is, lack of communication. “A student 's decision to attend a particular college or university is influenced by many factors” (Carlson, 1992, para.1). As I come to the conclusion, I come to realize what got me through my educational journey is being able to have support through the staff members who are from the schools I attended. However, I faced one person who I did not have great communication with. I struggled and had a difficult time only because of a little misunderstanding. I got passed that and worked on my communication. It takes two to make an effort. I was truly glad that the staff helped me understand what I had misunderstood. A great amount of faculty members are leaders who helped me get to where I need to be. This is why communication is so important. Communication allows us to become successful. Having great support allows us to feel encouraged. If the faculty and staff are trained right, I believe this problem with slowly die down. It takes time, but anything is possible.

Being A College Student As An Educator Essay

- Schools in the United States today are increasingly diverse and are continually seeking new ways to adapt to the broad range of students within them. America as a society has in fact changed from that of a “melting pot” to more of a “salad bowl”, and educators are expected to meet the needs of each individual that walks into a classroom. It is not necessarily an effortless task, and it is not for the masses, but it is for me. I am interested in not just having a job, but having a vocation. Bringing home a paycheck is not the reason I yearn to be an educator, truly enriching students with knowledge and providing real purpose is why I want to be a teacher....   [tags: Education, Teacher, Student, School]
