Reflection: My Experience For The First Year Of College

Reflection Paper
At the beginning of the fall 2016 semester, I was struggling to find my classes. Now, as this semester comes to an end, I am able to look back and reflect on all of the different experiences I have collected within the last few months. Since the beginning of the first semester of college, I have learned time management skills, the values of family, and the limits of my emotional state. All throughout high school, I was the honors student who never studied, did her homework twenty minutes before class, and somehow managed to maintain a GPA above a 3.8. The psychology department as well has met my expectations, but I do wish there were more apparent internship opportunities for a current freshman. The UofA has such a variety of students, that at times I feel like I am just another number, and I do wish I could stand out more so than I currently do. I hope that in the future, I will have a more so direct role on campus, then I currently do.
Although it is not the end of the academic semester, I have accomplished my academic goals with the exception of one class. Math has always been a challenge for me, and I believe that I will end up receiving a B in the class. My goal was a 4.0 GPA my first semester, but instead I will postpone that goal for next semester. My personal goals have been met because I succeeded well in my first semester in college, and still love the UofA and education in general.
This class has assisted me in clarifying that I am interested in becoming a psychiatrist, and this class furthered my understanding and knowledge in the field of psychiatry. Because I have a better understanding of psychiatry and the overall field, I will be able to prepare myself for that next step in my
