My Goals To Becoming A Social Work Career

Becoming a social worker is the highest goal I am ecstatic to achieve in life. The social work profession speaks to me unlike any other profession, because I have the opportunity be a guiding light in someone’s life. Through social work, I will be able to help all types of people make decisions while at the same time advocate for their individual rights. By attending the University of Kansas, I believe I will be able to emerge myself in the best academic environment to work toward achieving my goal. When I work to reach a goal, I am committed to the fullest extent. I put education and career first, and being able to work on both of those at the same time pushes me to reach my highest potential. My entire life I was taught by wonderful grandparents that everyone deserves a chance, and those who have it worse than you deserve a helping hand to lift them to their feet again. I have always kept this in mind, along with treating others the way I would want to be treated. Using my voice to help those who may not be as privileged as I am and showing empathy in all situations is how I naturally am, and being able to put that to use as a career is my biggest dream. I want to be a guiding life is someone’s life, and I can do that through a career in social work. Social work may not be the only helping profession, but it is the right profession for me personally, as I will be able to help others reach their potential and advocate for their basic rights. The University of Kansas will help me achieve my goal, as I believe the education I receive will make me more than well prepared for the journey of social work that lies
