Have you ever watched the Presidential Inaugural Address? Well, you should because you can learn what the new president wants to do with the country you are living in. I analyzed Barack Obama and George Washington’s Inaugural Addresses. There were many differences and similarities between Barack Obama and George Washington’s that I will further explain in this essay. One difference was that Obama’s speech was about trust while Washington’s was about the citizens rights for the new nation. One similarity is that both speeches talked about what each person wanted to do as president. Barack Obama and George Washington's Inaugural Addresses made a big impact on the country.
When president Barack Obama first walked on the biggest stage in America eight years ago a lot of Americans did not trust his words of wisdom to carry, we the people to a better United States. On January 10, 2017 President Barack Obama walked back on that same big stage now known and loved by so many to give his last and final speech, his Farewell speech. All of the non believers were certainly awoken to the actions that were taken by president Barack Obama to achieve most of what he truly dedicated his life and career to. Obama worked hard to gain the love, respect and dedication by so many loyal americans today. It definitely was not an easy task to achieve, many trials and many errors. In this analysis I will state weather or not Obama’s
The truth is Barack Obama underwent a path of confusion and desperateness. Yet, every good and bad experience he had helped him see the world from a different perspective. A perspective that would guide him to a successful future.
The election of President Barrack Hussein Obama was one of the greatest movements in history for the United States of America. This election brought to America a symbol of change, and with that change came hope. However, were the Americans blinded by their own hopes of this change? The campaign of Obama was so focused on ‘change’, because that is what the people wanted to hear. Many people claim that Barrack Obama is a great president, who is helping the poor, and has made a monumental impact for the black communities. Yet, there seem to be more people who see past the show that Obama presents. Yes, there has been change, but in what forms has it come? When one looks at the political and non-political agenda of this president, a new light is shed. Maybe the change isn’t about being a black president; maybe it is about changing the direction of the United States government.
For many years, American Presidents were viewed as being white and powerful leaders. Why were they only white? Is it because Americans felt Blacks were not smart enough to run a country on their own? African Americans were viewed as less dominate people and have been discriminated because of the color of their skin. In 2008, Barack Obama was elected President of the United States making him the first black president ever. In this paper, I will discuss how Barack makes a change and if America can accept him as our first black president.
Michelle attended Princeton University, graduating from laude in 1985, and went on to earn a degree from Harvard Law School in 1988. Following her graduation from Harvard, she worked at a Chicago law firm, where she met her husband, future U.S. president Barack Obama.
Before being elected as the first African-American president of the United States, Barack Obama was a young student who was trying to come to grips with his racial identity through a period of rebellion. Through Obama’s memoir, Dreams from My Father,, people would be able to see the development in his beliefs.
Barak Obama is the 44th president of the United States and also the1st black man to hold this position. He has emerged from a society of segregation to become one of the greatest leaders of the free world. He has followed in the footsteps of many great black leaders including Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. These freedom fighters have paved the way for the emergence of African Americans as leaders. Martin Luther King Jr. was a fore runner in the passing of the voting rights act of 1965 which gave everyone the chance to vote, regardless of sex, race, and class. This voting rights act now allows millions of people the opportunity to exercise their franchise. This voting freedom is one of the factors which helped to gain Obama his victory in the 2008 United States election and again in 2012. People of all races can now vote and this paper will therefore seek to critically asses the role of race in the election of Barack Obama as President.
Obama emotionally influences the nation to move forward from the issues of race that is hindering America. Without dwelling on his family tree, Obama reminds us that his father was black and his mother white, that he came from Kenya, but she came from Kansas: “I am married to a black American who carries within her the blood of slave and slave owners — an inheritance we pass on to our two precious daughters. I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible.
Barack Hussein Obama also struggled and suffered a lot during his life, but he ended up as the 44th President of The United States of American. He achieved his American Dream, and in his situation it was slightly impossible. Barack Hussein Obama comes from a Muslim family, and he is also black, and his dad is from Kenya, considering the racism in the world today, and the fact that he’s not fully American, achieving what he achieved was almost impossible. Obama showed how America is free and anyone can achieve their American Dream there.
During his presidency, he did many things like, healthcare. Healthcare is a very important thing for many Americans. He made a statement “… It will provide more security and stability to those who have health insurance. It will provide insurance for those who don’t. And it will slow the growth of healthcare costs for our families, our businesses, and our government.” -President Obama addressing the Joint Session of Congress in 2009. In 2010 Obama created the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) on March 2010, by doing this it increased the coverage of healthcare insurance for many Americans.
Barack Obama is a politically successful man, despite what the statistics indicate of his race and circumstances. How did he achieve this success? Certainly, a major factor of his success today is the dramatic change in racial viewpoints since Barack’s birth in the early 1960’s. However, in order for him to have risen to this stature, we have to look at the factors surrounding his youth, which paved the path to his success today. There are three major contributing factors, which lead to Barack as a successful person, environment, education and family.
It was a couple week after my 14th birthday when Obama became president. As a young, and adventurous person, I was not into politics. The only idea I had on politics was that everyone is just a figure-head of some sort. So I thought the same with Obama. He does not really do much. He is just a symbol. It does not really matter. However, over the last 9 years I realized that by watching him serve as a leader, I was completely incorrect. Not that he wasn't a figure-head or that his occupation is not completely culture based, but that it genuinely does not matter. It does matter. A symbol matters. Deploying a president that continuously demonstrates a deep level to feel and understand others matters to me. Ensuring empathy and patiences at such
Barack’s father, Barack Hussein Obama, was the first African American to attend the University of Hawaii, where he met Ann Dunham, Barack’s mother. Where Barack Sr. was from Kenya, Ann was from Wichita, Kansas. Even though they were ridiculed, they got married and then had Barack Hussein Obama Jr. on August 4, 1961. Barack Jr.’s maternal grandparents moved to Hawaii from Kansas and played a large role in their life for awhile. A short while after the marriage began, it ended. Barack Sr. left Barack Jr’s
To sum up, Obama has always been and will always be a great example of how to succeed in spite of difficulties or obstacles. Such a strong personality is worth to be admired. Obama has left me with positive feelings about the
