In mid-2001, the Government of India (GOI) reported that it would table a bill banning tobacco organizations from promoting their items and supporting games and social occasions. The case 'Restriction on Tobacco Ads by the Government of India ' gave an outline of the issues that have been raised by this choice. I also agree to some extent that the manufacturers of tobacco products do provide employment and contribute to the GDP of the country economy through the acquisition of raw material from the farmers who in return earn some revenue from their produce. So the governments should be cautious when dealing with such matters which borders on business as opposed to seeing just the side of the wellbeing of societies. I believe people should be educated about the harmful effects of tobacco as well as the positives if any, such as health benefits, then advertise the benefits of not smoking to prevent people from going crazy because people do have a choice and can play a bigger role to have a non-smoking community.
