Remember when we were young we used to play sports with our friends. We didn’t really play to win, we just wanted to have some good time. But now, the society changed and the mindset changed. Sport became a huge business with billions of dollars. Athletes didn’t use to make that kind of money, but now they make multi millions of dollars. Clothes, commercials and business- deals make them very wealthy. People’s attitude changed and they are more competitive now. Even children at young age are pumped by their parents that they have to succeed. So how to get an extra edge in sports? The answer is simple, steroids. Canadian, 100m sprinter Ben Johnson in his prime the best on the planet. Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis were both extraordinary athletes, both were hungry for the title “the fastest man alive”. Ben was a simple kid from Canada, he had a talent and his coach discovered it. He trained him and turned him into a superstar. He introduced him to doctor Jamie Astaphan and from there they took it to a whole different level. Ben started to get injected once a week and started to get stronger. Slowly he started to win and became the best on the planet. Carl Lewis couldn’t catch him anymore, Ben was on the different level. For years we was a superstar, the fastest man, but everything passes. Johnson pulled a muscle and he had to take few weeks off. When he came back he lost the first race in Zurich. He knew he would lose, he just wanted to see where his at. In 6 weeks the Olympics in Seoul were about to begin, so Ben and his doctor did what they had to do, the “pumped” him up. In Seoul it was between Carl Lewis and Ben Johnson, but Ben was incredible. He not only won the race, he broke the world record 9.79. The same day he got caught taking stanozolol, the world was shocked. Could it be possible that he cheated? Unfortunately yes, he was caught and banned from the sport for few years.
